Good luck
I'll be really happy if we reach the big goal. :j
I've just been chatting to OH as the food I bought a week ago is disappearing fast. We're going to sit down soon and properly meal plan as well as going to online ordering. We can be more in control of our budget then plus I don't think I can cope with the supermarket every week.
I know we're not at the point where we're on a debt plan. But we don't want to get there either, so we want to change things now and get it sorted once and for all. :A
I need to go to bed soon though, I'm shattered today and while I want to list stuff on eBay I don't have the umph. I have a business account though, so free listing isn't a motivation that maybe I need. You have to start to finish.

It's tough this month. We're fast running out of food....why when I spent more than normal is it lasting LESS than normal I don't know. The bank is nearly dry and I had to use my CC for fuel.
On a plus, we're getting through it ourselves. Determined not to borrow of the MIL. I've just transferred some out of paypal, so that should hit friday and keep us going til we get Child benefit on Tuesday. When I get paid a week on friday we're going to get organised with meals, and shop each week online to keep within a budget. This should help once we get it up and running.
Off for some quiet time now as I've been sorting out the filing cabinet tonight, getting rid of old papers, organising the ones we need to keep etc. I've nearly found the end, but will tackle the rest tomorrow while I'm off.You have to start to finish.

Hi Aiming High - online shopping is really helping us this month.... as it is reducing our spend...
I've also been making myself take some of my "fritter" spend items back almost as a way of trying to train myself not to do it. I've been looking at the things I could have for my money if I used it more wisely and that is helping too. DS asked for a chinese tonight - to both OH and I individually - we both gave him the same answer - "Are you treating us then? If so yes we'd love it - if not NO!" Strangely at 13 he didn't have spare dosh for a chinese either. We had home made chilli instead - yummy!Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

LOL over the chinese. At the moment I'm spending nothing really. Fuel, milk, bread and cigs (and I've cut these down loads), I've had no coffees, or dinners from shops at work.
Hubby has had quite a few....which I think is our set back. It's no where near as many as normal, but it's hurting the bank this time as I'd normally be getting paid this week, not next. I think he's realised though so lesson learnt.
We've just had a lovely spag bol for tea. Smart Price, pasta, tomatoes and mushrooms, with a sauce on offer and mince, really nice. I'm not quite up to making the sauce etc myself yet but all kids love it, so want to do it more often for less.
Oh and i've found some old loans with PPI on, so I have a new mission. :TYou have to start to finish.

good luck with the ppi claims! I've heard lots of good stories lately with people getting lots back
I don't make my own sauce for pasta either lol, i use the 17p (actually think it may have gone up to 20 something pence lately) in tesco...they only ever have about 6 jars on the shelf strangely and are well hidden (they keep moving it) i'm sure they just want me to spend 80p on their next lowest priced one...but i'm too tight :rotfl:and it tasted lovely although i always add a few extra herbs to it

Hi Aiming High - on the spaghetti sauce
I use smart price passata - a pinch of oregano - a pinch of mixed herbs - loads of garlic (often use the cheat puree that comes in a tube), with mushrooms, onions and mixed peppers to taste plus the mince. I have to confess to having used my first clove of fresh garlic this week!! Sometimes I add tomato sauce or honey or agave nectar or a spoon or sugar or a teaspoon of hot chocolate for sweetness....

Well today's a better day. I had to nag hubby into checking out some old companies for PPI as they're in his name, anywhoo first 2 were buy now pay laters, which we paid off, so while they had PPI on we never started paying it.
Barclays told us to go into branch....
Lloyds TSB was the surprise, all I had was the loan paid off letter with one line about PPI that read as though we had it....hubby phoned them up and the claim is now in progress :T Apparently it DID have PPI on.
Also I've got my vouchers from Park. :T Picked up my boots catalogue on the way home from MIL's (been sorting out her upstairs so have some clothes to list on eBay) I also got some boots money off/more points vouchers in the post yesterday so will be teaming them up soon to make a dint in christmas.
All in all a good day.....pity it's back to work tomorrow to spoil it.You have to start to finish.

It's worth it. We claimed back bank charges a few years back before it got harder and got quite a bit.
PPI we didn't think we had any, but looking forward to getting it back. You have to start to finish.
