Here's a look at what the new Bank of Scotland Visa Electron Card design looks like - A nice looking card me thinks!!!

The picture on the card is of The Clyde Auditorium, Glasgow

Last weekend I applied online for a Halifax reward current account (currently have a few savings accounts with them). I got a letter saying there had been a problem and to go to a branch to apply instead.

This morning I went to my local branch to try and open an account only to be told that they were no longer doing the reward current account and that new accounts would be available in November, but she had no idea what these would be!

Is the reward current account no longer available, as it's still advertised on their website?!

Are you sure you didn't go in to a Bank of Scotland branch?

Are there no longer any Halifax branches left in Scotland?

None at all, although a Halifax customer can do some transactions in Bank of Scotland branches, it is in the terms and conditions.

Yep, but again it is for the same set of limit transactions. You would need to check the T&C's to see what they are, I recall one is to make withdrawals up to £1200.

I have looked on the Halifax branch locator website and they list one branch in Edinburgh which they list as
Branch InformationBranch:Cash & Clearing - Tweed HouseAddress:
Tweed House
35 South Gyle Crescent
Edinburgh
EH12 9HP
Telephone:

Is this a real branch or an office for chasing bits of paper

Aren't they one and the same?? It definitely used to be a Halifax branch, can't say I noticed what it was the other day!

I did open up a Halifax children's regular saver in the same branch just the other week, and when you check on Halifax's website for branch finder, it's this one that shows up (but also the same one on BoS's website too).

Are they definitely stopping the reward current account? Should I try and apply again online for it?

I didn't have marker cos they open account for me. When logged in I click on apply for bank accounts and it then says you can apply for a secondary account. I put my password in and my work type and then submitted. Its that easy.

The next day the account appear online in my online banking section. not heard anything from them in post as yet.

On equifax no search, on experian no search. not check call credit yet cos noddle not update until next week for me so i tell you then if ok?

Great

I am looking to appy for the additional account like you, just dont need the credit search. Let me now if they did search you for the second account on noodle as well
