Presents the night before

Can't believe anyone would make him wait! It's his birthday!!
It's not his fault his patents have work. Is he going to enjoy waiting all day, or is it going to be really frustrating for him?
Tell him the situation, ask him if he would be happy to get his main pressie the night before, pretty sure he'll say yes! It's only a matter of hours, what's the big deal? That means he will have time to set it up, add a few apps, get a feel for it, with the help of Dad, so by the morning
of his birthday, it will be all set up and ready for his full birthdays enjoyment. If his birthday entails the excitement of going to work with mum in the morning, and going out for a family meal in the evening, an iPod touch to fiddle with is going to be a welcome addition to the day IMO.
If you make him wait till the evening of his birthday, you won't have the time to fiddle and faff with it, as you already have arrangements. I see know benefit in waiting, if there is one, what is it, please explain??!!
No brainer to me.
My kids all have iPod touches and love them. I would definatly recommend getting a screen protector on from the start, and some sort of case, the rubber ones ard great for kids, and really help protect, with the inevitable drops!0 -

I don't think it's mean! We did exactly the same with DSD if one of us was busy. She was that involved in opening other presents and playing with them that she never remembered if she had one from him/me or not. Then later, when she thougt it was all over, she would get excited again about getting another one!0

Another vote for getting the iPod the night before, then waiting for all his other pressies. It will make the morning in the salon a bit more special and different from the norm and he will be so engrossed in the iPod he'll not even notice the time passing.0

We often do it the night before if its mid week. DH gets up at 630 during the week and is out before the kids get up. I don't want him to miss out on seeing them opening their presents. I would do it the night before. If its a weekend we do it on the morning.0

I asked my kids what their favourite free apps are, incase it's any use to you. Don't think the ones they suggested are all free ones!
But maybe friends family who are stuck what to buy, may want to gift an app.
They like angry birds, gremlin, bunny shooter, fruit ninja, doodle jump.
One I quite like is photostudio, though there may be a better one now. Tvcatchup is good too, can watch live tv.
Hope he has a lovely day.0 -

It's not a pop at you Kimberly, but a question in general, if it's appropriate (i.e not a school day) do people not book the day off as a holiday? We have a no-work rule for all our birthdays here (although The Boy is only 2),___,
