Both hers (a boy and a girl) refused to wear their coats unless it was the depths of winter, for 2 or 3 years. Apparently, both of them re-found an attachment to coats for school when they went into year 10:rotfl:.
"The no-coat phenomenon"......laughed so hard i nearly choked!! :rotfl::rotfl: My daughter has just started at High School this week and her school make them put coats in lockers or a bag so she has refused to wear one after first day too!:beer:0 -
I know that my son leaves the house with a coat on.
Whether or not hes still wearing it by the time he reaches the bus stop is an ENTIRELY different story however......You lied to me Edward. There IS a Swansea. And other places.....
*I have done reading too*
*I have done geography as well*0 -
not allowed at my sons school, at all
they have a blazer, and the head stands at the gate each morning making sure full uniform is worn be each, and no coats
mine needs to take 2 trains to get there, so its a lengthy journey, especially in the winter here, which is really september to may:rotfl:0 -
4th day of Secondary school for my eldest and he's set off refusing to wear a coat. He said he would if it was raining, but when I went outisde to show him it was, he said spitting didn't count! 5 mins later after he'd set off it was raining quite heavily. He catches a school bus, but it's a block away from where we live to catch it. School uniform is v necked jumper, shirt and tie. They don't wear blazers.
Yes he does - but only because I make him...he would happily go off in just his shirt/tie or his lightest jacket whatever the weather.Cross Stitch Cafe member No. 32012 170-194 2013 195-207.Hello Kitty ballerina 208.AVA 209.OLIVIA 210.ELLA 211.CARLA 212.LOUISE 213.CHARLEY 214.Mother & Child 215.Stop Faffing Completed 2014 216.Stitchers Sampler. 217.Let Them Be Small 218.Keep Calm 219. That doesn't sound very reasonable - what about when it snows?Cross Stitch Cafe member No. 32012 170-194 2013 195-207.Hello Kitty ballerina 208.AVA 209.OLIVIA 210.ELLA 211.CARLA 212.LOUISE 213.CHARLEY 214.Mother & Child 215.Stop Faffing Completed 2014 216.Stitchers Sampler. 217.Let Them Be Small 218.Keep Calm 219. Mine is in secondary school and refuses to wear a coat mind my 5 year old also refuses to wear a coat :O
With my eldest its the bother of having to carry it all day as it cannot be worn indoors, no pegs or lockers either so its simpler not to bother. Though he did go in a jacket this morning as it was raining.Sometimes i like to imagine that im living on the breadline as a single mum with 3 children to feed and clothe, bills to pay and very little time to myself........ then i wake up and realise im a princess with prince charming by my side and a lovely white castle........ oh wait

When I was at school the cloakrooms were taken away in my third-year (to make space for extra classrooms and eating areas) and were replaced by a row of pegs outside each classroom. Lockers are a distant memory - they disappeared years before I started at the school, and not even my elder brother can remember them. I *do* remember lugging a huge bag around with me, stuffed with about 10 text-books, PE-kit, football boots etc etc - and I'm fairly sure that I wore a coat most days apart from in the height of summer (because this was back in the days when we actually had a summer in this country).0

None of my 5 gone/going through wear/wore a coat.. nor did my brother.. I did and lugged it about all day.. I like warmth lol.
If they want to be cold then fine.. so long as they dont moan to me.
Boys tend to wear woolly hats here and the girls have umbrellas and the boys are more likely to jog home in the rain so are less wet.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
Neither of my teens wear a coat to school, but they do wear blazers.
They don't want to have the lug the coats around so they go without.
When it's freeeeeeeezing snowy and icey cold they will wear one with some gloves, but that's about it.Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0
