This is the third time I've tried to post today and got interrupted. If it happens again I give up.Back to school.....I remember it well.
The smile of the child as he starts for school is a bit restrained as a general rule.
The teacher's smile , in the same way tends to droop a bit as the holiday ends.
But the smile much wider than the others, as the summer riot ends....................is Mother's.
The sun is shining here today, as well it might after the horrendous weather yesterday. My runner bean sticks are all neatly leaning at a 45 degree angle.
NPM: hope you and Fatcat are both feeling better.
Red Ruby: Sorry your DD feels the lack of boys is a disadvantage. Personally I disagree with her but I bet the boys aren't complaining.
Valk-Scot: Your DS sounds a thoroughly nice person. I feel sorry for those kids who have nothing left to want, what have they got to look forward to?
Beemuzed: You enjoy your break. Your DS is quite capable of sorting himself out, he might surprise you, (and himself.)
Nicky: How lovely that you found the furniture you need. I remember the first bedside table I had - mind you I was married by that time, until then I managed fine with an orange box with a pretty curtain round it. (sound of plaintive violins.)
We are still eating up the remains of the Harvest Supper so hopefully it will be a cheap week .
I'm finishing now before I'm interrupted again.

Afternoon all
Still blowing a gale here, and the odd shower. Dug out my winter boots today too
Skived off early this afternoon as had to go enrol at uni for the 2nd year of my PGCE. It was lovely to catch up with everyone, we went for a coffee afterwards. Also found out our hours are even shorter this year too
I'm still very annoyed with BT, still no call back . Just spoke to someone on the live chat (I fear I may get irate if I phoned!!) and they could see my open case but couldn't discuss it as it was with the investigations dept. So I'm now awaiting a call back from them within next 24 hours, won't hold my breath.
Also, bit worrying I discovered 2 BT letters had been sent to my old address and not forwarded via the redirection service I have set up. The new resident or landlord must have put them in my postbox.
I'm begining to stress out about finding a new car
I wish someone would just pick for me! :rotfl:
OS wise - DW been on and needs emptying, I need to put bedding in WM, dinner is LO's.
Have a good evening all

Hi all,
:bdaycake:Happy Birthday Mioliere-hope its a good day in France for you.
Beth & LameWolf & Fatcat(((Hugs)))
Still very windy here but not rained for a while,I was a bit worried about the poplars in the garden last night-swaying a bit much for my liking
DS2 not in for tea as he is going to a gig at Manchester Academy. We are having Thai curry made with turkey.I was unreasonably excited this morning as my first order came from App.food-its mainly bread flour and mixes(granary rolls in the Remoska as I type, and naan mixed and ready to cook to have with our curry),dried soup mix, couscous and stuff like that to prop up my winter stores. It says on the invoice that on £21 goods I have saved over £54,some of the items had discounted delivery too-I have oat bran porridge every morning, and it is normally £1.50,I got 6 for £2.40,cant be bad :j
I made mushroom soup, and ham & sweetcorn yesterday,so that was all polished off at lunchtime as the men were home for lunch, then sorted my summer tops and dresses and packed em into a vacuum storage bag.I got a few of these when Tjhughes was shutting,so I've got some spare space now.Prob have a heatwave next week now:cool: with our crazy weather:rotfl:

Hello everyone
Happy birthday Mioliere! Hope you're having a lovely day :j
((Hugs)) to Bethebee, NPM, Lamewolf and anyone else in need.
Another busy day at work today - slightly more productive than yesterday
but I do wish there were more hours in the day (Note: not sure I'd want to spend them at work if there were...)
Nothing very OS to report so far today. Dinner will be sweet and sour chicken with cheating sauce from a tin (value, giving it a try - looks OK), rice and stir-fry veg. I have the chicken carcase (sp?) in the fridge - going to see if I can make some soup with it in the SC, I am sure there will be a helpful recipe on here somewhere. Ashamed to say I very rarely manage to make soup
and hoping the SC will be an easy way to do it.
It's been very autumnal here today - there's a real chill in the air and the leaves are beginning to turn. Part of me is sad to see the end of summer but I do love autumn too - the trees in all their golden glory and those wonderful sharply cold yet sunny days, wrapping up warm and heading out on bonfire night and the whole run-up to Christmas... *sigh* And don't get me started on the joy of wintry comfort food!:D
Better stop daydreaming and rescue the dinner!

Evening all,
Happy birthday Mioliere.
Smoky...lovely to know that you are doing ok, please come back, I miss you.
NPM....Hope that Noah's day went well to-day and that Fatcat improves.
Candy....hope that everything is well for your mother.
Beth....good luck with appointment to-morrow, enjoy your weekend.
Lame Wolf......take care.
Flutterby....trust that you find a car soon, try not to stress.
Cold again here to-day, we had dinner at 2, maybe that's a better time for OH, but I will be ravenous later....could live on my fat for years, but my stomach is not apparently aware of that!
No washing done, will do some to-morrow and put it out regardless, seems as if there are too many clothes in this house, also too much bedlinen, think I am going to do a clear-out one of these days.
Feeling cold here as no heat on except for living room, where OH has lit a fire.
Stay safe and warm all

Beth - thank you for the special hug the other day
I'm off the Tramadol now thank goodness. Will be thinking of you tomorrow. You are not selfish! Think how much support you have given to others on here!
Lamewolf - How rubbish! Telling you to go away and put up with it is not on
Mioliere - Hope you have had/are having a lovely day.
Donny-gal - Thank you for the news of Smokybabe, I miss her too. Hopefully she will feel up to posting again when she is feeling better.
(((HUGS))) to everyone who needs some.
We went to Bluewater today as I needed something from John lewis, then we had a coffee and cake before coming home - it was so nice to be somewhere else, it was the furthest I'd been since my operation. I still needed a comfy chair to sit on, but luckily there were a couple available:D Currently deciding whether going to the Weald of Kent Craft Show this weekend would be a step too far at this stage, but we really have no spare money atm anyway so probably best all round if we don't go
Chilly wind here today, I've washed my jumpers all ready for when I need them! I was going to put DS's sweatshirts in the wash, but he said not to worry.....I suspect he's not at all sure where they are
They are somewhere in the chaos that is his bedroom.
best wishes

Evening All
Finding it really hard to post these days, I think I will have to give up one of the jobs! Not much happening here apart from work, clean, cook and work, DD been quite poorly with this cold that is going round - I had it last week but nothing like she did, she was really floored and even had a day off sick (first time ever).
Big hugs to all those who are worried about themselves or others, my thoughts are with you. Well done to those who have managed to be brave going back to school, I must admit that I was always glad to go back. Some of the children at the school I work in are struggling now, a few weeks in and they are very tired. The new Primary 1s will start all day next monday, that should be interesting!
Happy Birthday Mioliere! :bdaycake:
The weather here is rotten at the moment, still windy and some horrid showers. The washing is being dried inside but I admit to taking the bedding into work to dry and put through the big roller iron!! (well, there should be some perks).
Just been in the shower as I went for a quick swim after work and will start the other work at 7 tonight, I hope it's an easy one. Take care.XX0 -
Just wanted to come on here to tell you that had we both had test results back today and everything is fine, I was so excited and relieved :j It has been on my mind for the past three weeks so nice to hear test results are negative and no infections found.
Thats brilliant news :T:T:TRed Ruby: Sorry your DD feels the lack of boys is a disadvantage. Personally I disagree with her but I bet the boys aren't complaining.
I think I disagree too, but bless her, she went to an all girls school, so I think she was hoping to at least be able to see some boys :rotfl:

LW sorry the hossie appt was a it c**p, hugs for you xx
