i, this is the Daily Thread for Wednesday 7th September. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Morning all!! Up at the crack of dawn as have to get my train to Scotland at 6:30.
OH has been paid :j
Not been able to get online much this week, far to much going on..my phone doesn't seem to stop these days. Grandad will be let out of hospital next week i think, but it's a case of he'd rather live less and be hoe with gran than longer but stuck in hospital, so it's bittersweet really. I'm glad to get to see him today, I picked a good day as there are 2 visiting times so i can see him twice
Still need to pack my things, OH's grandparents are taking him out for dinner tonight, so he's only really got to fend for himself tomorrow.
The house is a tip - I'm hoping it will be clean by the time i get home on friday....yeah right!
I'm off to catch up on yesterdays
xx

Good morning, everyone. Hope you are all well, and surviving the awful weather I've been reading about in the newspaper. My sister texted me from Brixham yesterday, where she's on holiday in a caravan, and said she felt she was in danger of being blown away! I hope it's calmed down a bit since then. Here, it was breezier than normal but otherwise it was a good day yesterday.
I still have paperwork to sort out today; the French really do love their bits of paper, but it drives me completely mad because it seems that most of it is unnecessary; it just keeps people employed!
OS-wise - dinner will be roast chicken and whatever veg I can find that needs using up. We are just about on the last picking of peaches from the tree, so will proably have them for pudding.
Well, the kettle is callling, then I need to have a shower.

Morning all
Thank goodness the weather has calmed down a bit. Bit chilly here though. Managed to get my curtain up over my kitchen door and am pleased to say I can really feel the difference, also have got rid of the draught coming down my chimneys so I'm happy
.
Have beenawake since 5.30 when I had a weird dream. Woke up and was starving so have had breakfast. Off to clean for Mum today then shall pop in to see my friend on the way home, might put up one of my blinds if I get time. Then off to work tonight. Tea for me will probably be something on toast or a baked potatoe. Just heard something on the news about old-fashioned food making a comeback. It's never gone out of fashion in my house, especially in the winter
.
Have a good day all and big hugs to all who need one.

Thought i had better get an early start as i'm back to work today. Everything is done and have even taken the dog for a walk.Mince is defrosting in the fridge for spag bol tonight.
Got every scrap of my ironing finished yesterday. Laundry basket was pretty much empty, a few bits but not enough to do a load. Looked in there today and it is almost full . Will have to get that load on when i get home from work now.
Hope you all have a good day and hugs to those who need them.

Morning all
Happy Birthday Mioliere!
Hubby's been dropped at the station with his packup (sausage salad sandwich) my packup today is leftovers from last night, baked pollack with HG boiled potatoes & parsley sauce made with HG parsley.
I'm off to work soon for another exhausting 8 hour day, 7 & half of which I'm standing up, I only got a 10 minute lunch yesterday as the times had changed & no one told me, so I was standing for most of the 8 hours & still people were screaming for me to work quicker, lol. You know the machines work at a certain speed & it doesn't matter how much & how loud you shout & complain, they won't work any faster. It's the standing still that's a problem, usually I walking around & I find that easier than standing still. Never mind, stay positive I have a job, lots of people would like to be in my position.
Tea tonight is pork chop for hubby & lentil patties for me as I don't eat pork.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester
