    Morning everyone

Overcast, wet underfoot although not raining but chilly this morning. DH up and off to work at stupid early o'clock.

DS2 seemed to have a good day yesterday, DS1 goes back today, hope they both get on ok.

Dinner last night was various quick meals as DS1 had rugby training then we went to take his Cadet uniform back as he is not going anymore as it's on the same night as rugby training.

Have put a load of washing on line, not sure if it's going to dry though. Only working until lunchtime today, then off until Monday - am pleased to be getting back to normal routine, house needs some attention, and we're away the next 3 weekends, so need to keep on top of everything. Have remembered to get the meat out to defrost for dinner, so casserole on the menu here tonight - hate to say it but it's getting that kind of weather!

Not much else to say really, keep safe and well everyone, hugs to those that need them.

DS's birthday today. He was well pleased with his presents. We'd warned him it wouldn't be a massively expensive birthday as we've got these school trips next year to finance so what he got was a new phone (Hubby gets a discount because he's an academic, plus it wasn't a hugely expensive phone anyway belive me!), a gaming headset bought with Tesco vouchers and every discount I could find, sneaker type shoes from Sports Direct (ie also at discount!!) and a small pile of "fun" presents, like a cheap pedometer, a JO cookery book, a refs whistle and a tub of Celebrations. DD bought him 15 chocolate Freddos out her own pocket money, lol. He's going around with a grin on his face anyway, so he doesn't seem to mind he's not got the totteringly expensive heap some of his friends get. One mum told me she budgets £500 per birthday and the same per child for Christmas. She's got three kids so that's £3,000 per year, eek!

Today I need to go and clear DD's wardrobe and chest of drawers and pull out the summer clothes, then sort them into a pile to put away for next year, a pile for passing on and a pile for the charity shop. Then I need to get the box of her winter clothes down from the attic and check what she's got. I have a suspicion she's grown out her winter jacket which will be a pity as it was a really good 3-in-1 skiing type one her uncle brought back from America a couple of years back. Too large for her then so I was hoping for two winters out of it, but probably not the way she's growing.

Hubby is working from home today again, hrumph. That's the third day this week. I really hate him having lots of at home days. I like a bit of peace during the day! I might have to escape to the allotment for a bit.

    Morning all,

Had a rubbish sleep kept fidgeting and dreaming a lot, I think it's because we are due our results today. Fingers crossed they are ok and come soon.

O/S - Was going to make cider pork in sc but pork has not defrosted so will chuck it in the oven after work instead. Managed to find a lot of blackberries last night so quite a few are in the freezer, we will be having LO crumble and custard for pudding.

Hugs to all who needs them. x

    Morning All,

First day posting after our break in the lakes. Its took me this long to catch up. Its absolutley poured down since Monday and same again today, so washing hung all over like a chinese laundry again:mad:

    Happy Birthday Moliere:beer:
Candygirl Hope mum is ok, positive vibes

Was hoping to get into Manchester today but don't fancy getting wet through. My DS and GF will probably want to go though. Really need some long sleeved Tshirts from Primani I am really feeling the cold.
My new ebay business is keeping me really busy as well, so need to go and get some packing done.

DS is making tea tonight so that will be nice. Only 2 wks til they go back to Australia so it will be a shuffle around with the bedrooms again:cool:

The minute everyone has moved out again I am going to turn the spare room into a little office as I am sick of piles of stuff all over my dining table, plus it means no one can come back:D

    Have a good day all J x

PS I have a craving for macaroons today after the Great British Bake Off last night, might have to have a bash at making them

Morning All. Not been around too much of late, but hope to be back regularly soon.
Happy Birthday, Kathy - hope you have a great day, with the paperwork sorted quickly!
Well, DS has now been with us a whole month! Should have gone home nearly two weeks ago, but for most of that time he's been in hospital, so daily visits etc. He now has to do insulin injections, but not sure he's going to be good at this as he tends to spend so long in bed. His depression seems much heavier these days. At present I think he's leaving later today...but who knows.
DH has been very patient, even I am finding this a huge strain this time.
Only three weeks to our cruise and I'm beginning to panic as I'm worried about possible formal dining and I've done nothing about clothes or anything yet. And I'm worried DS will be ill while we're away and will just text us which won't help as at that distance we can do nothing....Yes, panic describes it very well!
Have been deaf in one ear since the labrinthytis, but am having that ear syringed later today, so am hopeful that will improve at least.
Anyone know any good calming exercises???
Hope you all have a good day today. take care.

Well, I'm as chuffed as a very chuffed thing today!! Been wanting to get ds into a bed for ages (he's 2 and more than ready) but with money being too tight to mention haven't been able to buy him one. Also we've been wanting a chest of drawers for dd, and she's currently using an upturned bin as a bedside table. So, last night I discover that a friend is selling toddler bed, drawers, and bedside table for £25 for the lot!! I know I haven't really GOT a spare £25, but it's such a bargain as it's the three things the kids really need it's just too good to pass up!

So, have dropped dd at school, just going to do my morning chores and then my dad is coming round to play with ds so I can make a start on the mammoth task of sorting out ds' room (it's currently a dumping ground as he can't get out of cot so doesn't matter - it's all going to have to be sorted and toddler-proofed) I'm hoping I'll find enough amongst the clutter that's saleable to make the £25 back!!

Might go to Mr Ts later for supplies, will see how I get on. Not got much veg, but got enough cheese and bacon to make a nice macaroni cheese with bacon if I don't get time :)

Have a good day people :) xxx
