Morning everyone.
Im abit late posting this morning, overlayed this morning first time i have done this for ages, didnt wake up until 8.15am!!!!( think the wine last night may have something to do with this!! ) So complete panic to get kids to school on time, but we managed it JUST!!!.:rotfl:
So i have only just finished cleaning kitchen, paid a few bills over the phone and i am just having five with a coffee before i get on with todays to do list.
I have phoned the man at the council dealing with the fence, he was so nice and said he will be out later and not to worry that the council are going to put it right and will make it look nice on my side.:T
Which im so pleased about my husband worked so hard last summer to build a patio for the kids swimming pool to go on, and it is just the fence that stopped him making a start on doing the top of the garden, so hopefully we will be able to work his green fingered magic up there when the weather gets better!!!
Hugs to all who need them, have items to put on ebay today as its 10p listing day and also pop a present for joannasmum dd in the post.:D
Take care all
Donna

DLB - glad to hear you have contacted the Council. I am sure things will get sorted once he has paid a visit.
You really deserved that wine last night after such an upset!

Hi everyone
It is so dark here just now and pssing with rain:(
Overdid it a bit yesterday. Cleaned some skirting boards, my bath, shower screen and general surfaces with a magic eraser, microfibre clothes, lemon juice and white vinegar. OH was very impressed with how shiny things looked. He is assigned to cleaning his own rooms and shower. He also is assigned to do the inside windows, I can't do windows but can do most other things.
I am supposed to be going to Ikea with my son later to get some knick knacks to put around the place for selling. He thinks our exisiting stuff is old fashioned and he does have an eye for modern interiors. Currently he is in bed:D
Started a load of washing, so will clean the floor with the floodwater.
Started a neck of lamb in the slowcooker and making a curry. Shall have pilau rice with it later. It should be safe to leave on low when I got out:eek:.
My lights have flickered - I get scared when it is very windy, as we seem to lose power when it is strong. I have my Tumble Dryer on, my SC on and DW on - fingers x'd. I can't cope when the power goes out too, it gets cold and it is getting beyond a joke now:(
(((Big hugs))) to who needs them and have a good day:)An average day in my life:hello: :mad: :coffee::coffee::coffee::T:rotfl: :rotfl:
:eek::mad: :beer:

Morning all (checks watch to see it is still morning
)
Hugs to everyone who needs them especially Valentine.
I have a free morning, so could do with vacuuming, especially downstairs. Ironing done last night whilst I was watching Corrie, so I feel virtuous there:p
Kids are at a pantomime this afternoon so instead of my normal mad dash to pick them up after my teaching, I get half an hour in town so can have a quick look in the sales again.
The sun's coming out now; it's still very windy but looks great for drying. Hope everyone has a good day.

Penny-Pincher!! wrote:Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Thursday 11th January 2007. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well
Morning Guys!
Not feeling too good and have been up for the past hour. Had some nightmares which have unsettled me abit:eek:
WM will go on shortly, DW at lunch and loo cleaned. Today I also need to sort some paperwork and get a couple of letters off.
Have hospital first thing then must get a few items of food that we have completely run out of.
Hope everyone else is ok today.
Breakie: Bacon Roll
Lunch: Bubble and Squeak (leftovers from last night)
Dinner: Shepards Pie & Veg (made last week when double batched)
Will catch up later.
PP
xx
Big hugs - having a nightmare can really shake you up for the day. I had a nightmare that I left all my duty free Champagne at a holiday villa when returning home, plus most of my belongings. I woke up wanting to ring someone to get it all back:eek:An average day in my life:hello: :mad: :coffee::coffee::coffee::T:rotfl: :rotfl:

Queenie, would you like to be my personal assistant? Your post is very motivating.
Valentine, my thoughts are with you today and i will be thinking of you and your family.
I cant seem to get motivated today, but then again i seem to have alot of days like that. I think its like Queenie showed, i need to break down the jobs and do small steps instead of looking at the overwhelming BIGGER picture.
Better go and try again. Love Elaine x“Love yourself first and everything else falls into line. Your really have to love yourself to get anything done in this world.” Lucille Ball.0 -
Morning all
Bit on the breezy side eh!! Went to put a few workbooks in the paper bin and nearly ended up on the yellow brick road:D Luckily me and toto are safely back in the house and everything is still black and white:rotfl:
I love this weather particularly when Im wrapped up in a very warm duvet. Have another fairly free day although one of my more high maintenance customers was due back in the Isle of Man this morning and his boat has been cancelled so I may need to go check hes ok later today:rolleyes:
Have been really good this year with regard to the sales - apart from a few things bought from next with a mse code I have been no where near a clothes shop - even food has been cheap as I am doing my very own freezer challenge:rotfl: ie eat it all then you can defrost it and restock it
Today however I may be hitting the danger zone as I need to visit the trafford centre:eek:  Its my good mates 50th birthday on monday and as she is going away tomorrow for 4 days tonight is the friends celebration. I want to get her some diamonds - and before you all faint theres a lovely range called white diamonds at debenhams where you can get some really lovely diamond jewellery for a very good price. She is single like me so you dont tend to get the gorgeous jewellery so want her to have something she can keep - of course that does mean I will need to check the rest of the centre out (rude not too:D)
Anyway I think I will be ok as one of my goals this year is to throw more money into the mortgage so everything I buy now I need to ask do I want this more than I want to mortgage free - course the answer will sometimes be yes:rotfl:
Food today will be something from the trafford centre then something from my freezer:D
Have a lovely day all and stay safe in this mad weather

Morning everyone!!
I'm glad I'm not the only one who overslept this morning!! Am only just waking myself up now!
My dog is eagerly awaiting the return of my OH from work... all he does is annoy him when he is back, but hates it when either one of us isn't here!
I have a list of jobs to do today, but am going to work through it at a snails pace... lately I have been pushing myself too much and making myself more ill... I spent most of last night in agony with my knees... you wouldn't believe that I was 24 rather than 84 would you??!
So I have quite a few things to do... need to get to the bank and PO as I didn't manage that yesterday, have a lot of cleaning to do and need to print out my CVs as am going around Brighton tomorrow doing a 'CV drop' to find a job (hopefully!), before I take the Guides to a panto!
The wind is drving me crazy.... I can't believe that 20 years ago the area was covered in a blanket of snow for 2 weeks.... even though I was so young, I still remember it... it's something you don't forget I guess!
Big huge hugs to everyone who needs them, esp Valentine!
Gonna go wrap myself in a blanket now methinks!
