Thanks again.0 -

Right just got off the phone to Currys, all he has said he can do is uplift the TV again to 'unblemish' it ! Quite frankly I don't quite see how they can buff out the marks and the bezel let alone the scratch they left on the screen !? Anyway I've allowed him to make a date for now, he reckons if they can't get it back to 'as new' they'll replace it. In the meantime if I hear from Samsung I'll see what they offer. If it end up going to Currys I'll make sure I put tape round the scratch and marks on the bezel !0

What do you think?
I would be confirming that before they touched it... but maybe that's just me.0 -
That point seems quite important to me.

I would agree on that front, don't worry though as I've asked more questions anyway. I haven't invited them round yet so I'll make sure I ask the question before I do.
It is indeed horizontal banding, as mentioned it is very noticeable on a light background and even more so when the picture pans up and down.0 -
Currys collected the TV today, the guy had the cheek to ask if I had damaged it putting it back on the wall. I put him straight, I took the liberty of putting masking tape around the scratch on the screen so it can't be missed I also stuck a photo on the back of the TV that displays the faults along with a nice description. Let's see what happens this time, the guy siad it'll be back with me on the 17th so I already see that as a bad sign, keen to give it back already. Still can't see how they're gonna get the scratch out of the screen.
I got a reply from samsung through 'my samsun', it's beyond useless tbh. They asked if I had a router within 1 metre, the glasses are infrared ! Lol ? Anyway I replied but I am yet to receive a reply.0 -

Apparently the frequency of the glasses and emitter are similar to a wireless router, similar issue on av forums.

As for currys.. had my problems (look at my past thread from way back about my dealings), usually Esqui is the man who knows the score:exclamatiTo the internet.. I need to complain about something!0 -
Fair play, thanks for the pointer, I don't have a router anywhere near anyway. I looked at your thread, sounds like you had fun. Don't think Currys are even taking in the 28 Days policy with me at the minute as they're not even acknowledging the faults. Tbh I'm just hoping it's written off if they can't repair the damage.
The TV originally went away on the 20/08/11, I got it back on the 27/08/11. It hadn't been repaired plus like yours it came back with damage, I reported this via email to the guy handling the case the same day ! So 28 days will be up on the 16/09/11, does that mean I can request a refund/replacement if I don't have it back with the damage rectified on the 16th ?
Thanks in advance.0 -
It's basically 28 days that it's out of your possession.. so if they've had it for 7 days then you've got 3 weeks left!
To be fair, from what I've read in the past.. it'll go back, it'll sit around the warehouse for a weak, they'll either punt it back as is (or worse), or it'll go missing and you'll either be refunded or given vouchers!:exclamatiTo the internet.. I need to complain about something!0 -

Bummer ! So I've basically got to hope it either gets written off while in their possession or I get it back in the same condition so as I can send it off again ? Watch it come back in pristine condition now ! Lol.
Guess I'll have to try hounding Samsung again.0
