Faulty 3D Plasma Still Within Guarantee But Currys Useless

Options
Sent a 3DTV Plasma, the Samsung PS50C580 to be exact into the 'knowhow' team for repair as the glasses kept loosing sync, tried may different pairs, came to the conclution that it's the tv. I emailed the CEO but it gets passed to the 'knowhow' escalation team who are so far by my experiences, useless ! Anyways it came back from repair untouched with damage to the screen and bezel so I ain't happy.

The guy handling the case has come back and said it can go back to be touched up but they won't replace the TV as they couldn't find any faults. So at a bit of a loose end at the moment, the faults are pretty obvious so I don't know why they didn't pick them up. They have offered to listen to an independent engineers report and reimburse but I don't think I should have to go down that route plus I can't seem to find one locally (YO12).

I have tried emailing the Samsung CEO but I got no reply, don't know any other email addresses.

So anyone else in the DSG group I can badger ?

Thanks in advance !

How old is the TV? When did they fault occur and when did you report it?

They were the repairers sent by Samsung when my tv developed a fault under warranty.

TV was purchased 10th October 2010, the faults occured overtime, the glasses loosing sync had been a problem since day one but it's gradually worsened. Banding came about a couple of months ago and finally 'Pink Whites' has also worsened over time. My original complaint was made 25/7/11 to the currys CEO.

The glasses sync issue is a widespread problem, it's not just a problem with this model. It's down to the use of Infrared technology, they loose sync if the viewing environment isn't right or just randomly. They moved to Bluetooth technology this year.

As it's still under warranty have you tried simply contacting Samsung?

Worked for Mastercare(Currys ) as a tv engineer for 10 years ,5 years ago they paid off all their engineers ,their repairs are farmed out to any repair firm who wants their work,it is of little surprise to me that your tv set was returned no fault found. If the screen or cabinet was damaged it is up to the repair company to replace these(would probably be uneconomical repair),never heard of touching up a tv.

Sorry but Samsung have a really poor after service but good luck anyway.

You seem pretty obsessed about emailing people. Can't really expect the CEO to get involved in guarantee claims.

    Pursue with Currys.

    I disagree.

When my tv developed a fault, I signed up with samsung online and reported the fault online.

They then sent somebody along from the nearest authorised repairers, which was dbs that was posted earlier, and the tv was fixed in my home. :)

OP, I would suggest signing up with Samsung online, if you haven't already done so. Then just follow the steps to get your tv repaired by them.
