If anyone wants/can use the £10 off a £30 spend on children's clothing from Argos give me a shout. It's in the Sunday Express and valid until 27th September.

I really want to get rid of the living room carpet as I'm sure that's what makes it feel so dirty..

We got rid of ours when we got our first dog, he shred so much that I use to comb the carpet! We got laminate flooring and it feels soooo much better. No dogs now :( but am still so glad we got rid of the carpet :)

My HHC was interupted by DD1, she was trying on dresses upstairs and the youngest kitten (DC5) decided to pee on the dress bag she left on the floor   so we ended up nipping out to Pets At Home to see if we could get a different "accident" spray as the one we had obviously isn't working :( £6.99 later it better work!

I've cleaned out the fridge, wasn't hard as there's hardly anything in there.
Wiped down the sides, cupboard doors and big appliances, microwave. Did kettle and toaster the other day.
Got window sills, windows and back door to do but DD1 has just made me a coffee so I'll declutter that first :D
  • i dont know what it is but there is a mental block with me and this spare room of mine. instead of tidying it, i went and found lightbulbs for my blown bedroom light, emptied and loaded the dishwasher, emptied and washed the kitchen bin out, hung a load of washing on the line, swept the kitchen floor, cleared the kitchen table, cleaned the oven, wiped over the fridge and wiped down the sides!

this spare room is going to be the death of me!

    Wow. I'm on a roll.

LR totally cleared of paperwork - personal and work related. DR table cleared of my stuff so we can find somewhere to eat dinner tonight. Now only 2 huge filing trays to clear, and the floor filing system in the study. Will take it in tadpole bites around paid work this week.

All accounts up to date. Study tidied mostly. Going to try and do the personal filing trays now and then think about dinner.

    Uniform Washer
Ok - Am getting no where fast...

Have a basket of ironing which I need to get on with myself as it contains uniform items which are needed tomorrow. All other dry laundry has been folded and put away. WM is on and has just finished so am about to shuffle in the next load and dry LOs bedding in TD.

Have surface-tidied my bedroom again - need to go round with the hoover and duster soon. Ive got a few bits of tat which need to be cleaned up and put on Ebay which Im hoping will make me some extra pennies.

Also - need to update spreadsheets...

***2 and a half hours later...***

Was interrupted by a phone call from my mum -
have indeed shuffled the WM and the second load is finished.
Have filled another box with some stuff from the DR
    Fed child and cleaned kitchen
Have tried to switched my computer on a million times, but it keeps making a loud whirring noise and beeping at me!! Im traumatised... All my photos are on the PC, I need that PC for going to college/Uni....

Im using my little laptop just now but it doesnt have word/office etc and very little memory.

    I need my pc

Anyway - best keep going... xx

  • My washing lines have broken _pale_

Ducked underneath one to send a big snail flying over the fence (into the garden where their 17 year old brat breaks my plants down by climbing over for his ball ) and slipped on the wet grass. As I was heading face first for the raised beds, I grabbed the lines to break my fall - they held just long enough for me to rescue myself from permanent damage, then snapped their mountings at both ends.

Came back in and fired the TD up again - which wasn't in the plan because it is lovely and sunny and blustery and I had just stripped off the bedlinen specifically because of this.

Minion assisted making my bed - as did the splat. Twenty minutes later, it was done :)

Emptied bins brought down by Minion,
    WM just finished again,
Minion vacuumed downstairs whilst I went and got her some chocolate for after dinner,
    did splat nasties tray again
    bit more bleach chucked around
    plants watered

and should really go upstairs and vacuum my room as the tufts of fluff from where the new rug is being used as a lovely horizontal scratching post (but not the old rug, strangely enough) are getting beyond a joke.

Think I shall go and put some chicken on now for Minion, as she is apparently starving hungry.
I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.

    Hello all
Penny Penguin how lovely to see you!
GnB have fun with Uni; see you when you come up for air!:D

    Jojo I love those emoticons!:rotfl:

Maxonian I've never bought tights online, as I don't wear them (can't have nylon on my feet) but I've used the site Tightsplease to buy legwarmers, and was very happy with the service. As their name suggests, they do all things hosiery. HTH.:o

Perhaps for you it is still a work-life balancing act - flying has become your work
You're so right; I feel as if I don't deserve to do nice things if I don't do sufficient work first (probably a hangover from my parents dinning into me that you only play after all the chores are complete) *rolleyes*
Anyways, I'll be picking up what room is to be done, and looking at the task lists for ideas (I can easily forget to do vital tasks - indeed, I have a weekly reminder in the PDA to change the bed!:D) but I won't post much about exactly what I've managed to do, just report that the day's room is now clean and tidy, iyswim. Let's see if I feel a bit better doing that!:o Also, if I have to miss a day because Mr LW's wfh, or, like Tuesday, he's on leave and we'll be out, I'll leave the day's room that week apart from hygiene requirements. I can't keep on playing catch-up and doing two rooms on one day. We'll see how it goes, anyways!:o

    One word - Adorable!:D

My problem with needing an extra jug has kind of solved itself – the coffee filter machine died this morning! So we've been to Comet for a replacement, and I'm keeping the jug from the old one for general use.:o

We've also had a good weed out of the linen supplies – found a load of Mr LW's Grandma's pillowcases I was unaware we had, (I don't think he'd remembered they were there, either), so they'll do as a stash for use on the underneath pillows. And we've turfed out 4 tatty ones, plus a sheet that's not fit for use on the bed, which will do as dog/cat bedding at the animal shelter; so we're on track for taking that lot into Newport Pagnell on Tuesday.;)

I didn't get online yesterday (thanks for your concern Mrs Chaos);I was just too exhausted after going apple picking over at Woughton (free fruit!!:money:) then on into Stony Stratford – I usually send Mr LW on his own, but of course we wanted to do a foray round the charity shops. Another thing I need is a picture frame with roughly a 15” by 10” “aperture” for the cross stitch I finished a week or so ago.

I was nearly in disgrace with Mr LW as I failed to tape “The Borgias” for him last night;(too damned tired, and didn't realise the time); luckily I found out how to watch it online today, so he's a happy chicken again.:)

Well, that's life in the Wolf's Lair at the moment - going to see if Mr LW fancies cheese on toast in a bit.;)
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

Wow, the Flyladies have been busy and productive this afternoon.

Not a bad day for me so far - I have kept reducing my "must do today list" - to keep it more realistic - and have put some jobs on my Toots list (with deadlines!) - going to take my Toots List to Hemel with me for some organisation - have a feeling the evenings are going to be taken up with everyone else disappearing off with their work laptops and work mobiles ............. and me who has neither having to entertain myself - so lists, crafts and books are in order.

Slight major hiccup with the packing for my training course - part of my flying this year has involved having a serious look at some of the tatty clothes that pass through the wash and flinging them in the charity bag - unfortunately dress code for the training is 'casual' and it appears that I now have boring work stuff (rapidly heading for tatty) and only fit to walk dog/do housework/do gardening in clothes. I have one 30 minute lunch break to resolve this - less time taken to walk to and from shop - I have a problem - unless everyone else on the course is a dog lover!

Apart from that, I have completed 9 out of 12 of my dailies list for today, baked six cakes, bagged up an enormous of amount of damsons for the freezer, and cooked some (cue add "Sort Freezer" on the list for next weekend) cooked plums, gone through my admin, and ruthlessly decided there's no deadlines so most can wait - apart from all the e-mails and information I need for a meeting on Tuesday which I have printed and packed ready, ditto information for dog training tomorrow night, failed to pack for work training, made but accidentally distributed over myself pilchard cake, made and didn't throw at myself pilchard and garlic cake and decluttered a couple of recorded programmes.

Need to cut up the pilchard/and garlic cakes, make Mr B's sandwich, HHI, tidy round the kitchen (including the pilchard mix the dogs have missed) and perhaps make some cupcakes - haven't decided yet.

    Better crack on!

Good to see you LW. You've reminded me that I forgot to say that if I am trying to complete my lists for rooms, but am constrained by time - or am playing catch up (some weeks it's impossible to do anything apart from dailies until the weekend), I set the timer for 30 minutes for each of Pigpen's areas in turn - admittedly keeping the order to that one room doesn't get the most enthusiastic attention! Perhaps if you are having a difficult day, you could just do 30 minutes, or 15 minutes, or whatever, so you at least feel you have 'visited' the room - but apart from that I can see it will just overwhelm you - as it does the rest of us, to play catch up with ALL Pigpen's lists as the week goes on.
