UPDATE 29/03/13:

Since posting this I received a phone call on the 22nd Feb 13 (2 years after I sent an e-mail of complaint).

The call was from Wren Kitchens who wanted to come and look at my kitchen.

They came, they saw and they have now rectified all faults and installed new additions and I now have a beautiful kitchen to be proud of.

Thank you WREN I am delighted with the result.
:T

Hi, I'm hoping someone here could advise me what, if anything I can do
about a situation regarding having a kitchen installed.

The company is Wren Kitchens, of whom I had purchased one of their
showroom kitchens to have installed in early July. As of today, the 2nd September
it has finally been completed.

The kitchen itself was installed during the 2nd week of July 2011 or rather the
majority of it was - upon completion I noticed 2 doors which had been
fitted had chips on them so I contacted Wren who said that they would send replacements.

However when the replacements arrived only one was OK, the other one was the wrong size entirely!

I again contacted Wren who said they would order another. They ordered another two.
When they finally arrived on the 6th August I went to collect them from the store. At home I realised
that they had not included the raw plugs and could not be fitted by us.

The 2nd, and larger issue at hand is the kitchen hob extractor fan which
did not work from day one! Wren were contacted about this and they said they would send
out an Engineer. He arrived a few days later and advised us that it was faulty and had
been installed that way.

He said he could repair it but as it was new we should request a replacement. He was disgusted
that it had been installed.

Finally, the original kitchen fitter arrived this morning (2nd Sept) with the replacement extractor fan and installed it together with the
kitchen cupboard doors.

This has been a total nightmare, I have had to use my holiday entitlement and its been an endless case of
"We will call you back" although low and behold the phone never rang or when it did
they were completely outdated with the information (such as they called
us to say - after 4 weeks - the extractor fan was ready for collection
even when we had requested a re-installation by the original fitter).

I'm curious if I have any rights to compensation of some kind
as the main component of the kitchen did not function from day one and
has caused endless stress to me and time off work (for example having to
wait in all day for items to be delivered) which did not arrive.

I would be wholely disappointed if a company can behave like this towards its customers
without any consequence - especially with such large amounts of money
being spent on the product!

Thanks guys.. any suggestions or help would be appreciated greatly. :)

Spent over £7500 has been a nightmare from start to finish, our saleman was sacked before our kitchen even arrived,he got all his kitchens orders wrong(including ours) then the installation manageress left then the showroom manager left.

Kitchen should have been completed in May ,but were still having problems now.

They are due me a refund of nearly £200 for parts they took back that were wrong. They keep promising that it will be credited back to my card , just spoke to my credit card company and it still hasn't weeks later.

I shall be phoning their new manager in the morning.

I reget the day my wife and myself walked into their showroom ,and if I could turn back time I would never have!

Bought kitchen from WREN back in may and delivered june. Items sent wrong and damaged some have now been returned 3 times.
The units are badly made and the doors are coming apart where glued at the joins - should "solid oak doors" have joins glued all over?? I was told by WREN customer service (when finally get to speak to someone) that its due to dampness in my house. There is no damp - my home is at a constant temperature for our sons health. And surely QUALITY units are made to withstand some varying changes to air!!!! Perhaps they have damp at their warehouse ??? as I ve heard
The oak worktops are unlevel and thicker at one side than other and sink wont sit flush WREN blamed my fitter - an experienced (30 yr) kitchen fitter who said its the worst quality kitchen he d ever seen - and likened it to old MFI units!!! lo and behold I now discover it is MFI kitchen just new name. See BBC watchdog and 1000s of angry customers on internet!!! The painted solid oak is a laugh - it is only as if primed. So I am now in dispute with WREN along with it seems half their customers.
My husband and I are now at loggerheads as I chose to buy to save money but as he says " you pay ale prices you cant expect fine wine" But I dont expect water!!!
Bottom line DONT BUY FROM WREN :mad:unless of course you like mfi standard goods

PS been looking on there Facebook site for several weeks - all the bad posts and comments seem to dissappear overnight!!!

So who else here wouldn't trust a phone number offered by some total random on an internet forum? Certainly not for providing any account or identifiable information. :T

  • Just wanted to add my comments re Wren Kitchens. We arranged delivery of our new kitchen several weeks ago. Just over half of the delivery arrived on the day and some the week after following lots of aggravating phone calls. I agree with earlier posts that the customer services department is hopeless - very annoying to be passed from this department to the store and back again. We finally (think) we have all the items we ordered now and were finally given a free end panel and a promised £150 as compensation...oh and a free cup?! - One of the doors is also damaged and we have been told this will be replaced. I must admit the staff at the store in Bolton have tried to put things right quickly and been very apologetic - the 'customer service' staff couldn't care less and have repeatedly failed to return calls or action anything correctly.

Prior to this, the design service etc in store was good and we're pleased with the actual kitchen- just be cautious about the delivery and aftersales - you could be in for a stressful time.
