Trying to work out which bill they're going to use is incredibly frustrating - I'd originally planned to send a letter on the 10th for special delivery on the 11th (i.e. the last possible day they could receive a letter regarding this) in the hope that my bill for this month, rather than last, would be used.
I'm only affected by the data changes - I have a 500mb allowance, yet regularly use between 730mb and 750mb. This month, I know I'll have gone well over 750mb, so the increase will be to my detriment. However, the last bill I received only shows 730mb, so based on that, they wouldn't let me cancel.
I still feel I'm highly likely to be negatively impacted by the change as I'm a heavy data user. Do I have a hope in hell with this?0 -
I have contacted Vodafone about the recent charge increases but can anyone advise me if I will be able to cancel my contract.I received the text message at the start of September. In September I went over my data bundle and was charged an extra £5.My monthly tariff is £25.
Would i be able to cancel my contract in regards to the conditions in which overs have been stating (clause 11c)
I inadvertently went over my allowance but I mainly use my phone for downloading and could cancel with vodafone and go with three all you can eat data plan.0 -

I believe it would depend on how far over you went. Up to 250mb, you'll only be charged £5 anyway, so the price increase technically wouldn't affect you. I'm having the same issue, more or less - although I go over every month without fail.0 -
Anyone else having any success, I am still struggling on, no one in CS seems to know what is going on with these changes, one person said I am able to cancel, another said I am unable to cancel, and I have just got off the phone to one CS adviser, who doesnt know, so she has gone to check with her manager and is going to call me back.
No one seems to have a clue, im getting so fustrated, surely these people should be trained in this area because surely they will be having a lot of calls about the same thing?

am i correct in thinking that the bill to be used to calculate if the new charges increase your bill by over 10% would be the bill dated 08 october as this would be my last bill before the inreases take affect?0

Absolute wallet squeezers, this is all greed. I only found out about this tonight and although I am no longer a Vodafone customer, I left precisely because of their shonky billing practices.
I took out a two year contract in December 2009 and was promised unlimited internet with a fair use policy of 500mb. I used it to stream radio on my way to the office and knew I would be using about 600mb each month for this, so I posted on their forums before joining to see if this would be okay.
Their mods promised me that was fine and I wouldn't incur any extra charges, so I signed up. Come the summer they announced anyone who used over 500mb would be charged £5 for each block of 500mb extra, and oh yes, there was nothing you could do about it.
I eventually managed to cancel following over 60 emails, many heated conversations with their executive office, several recorded phone calls and quite a bit of legal advice being taken. It seemed trivial to Vodafone I had it in writing from a staff forum moderator before signing up to my contract that I wouldn't be charged extra. The 9 months ended up being an awful choice, and I was one of the lucky ones to escape.
What is really sad is Vodafone is one of the few British success stories. They have a global brand yet their treatment of customers is a real let-down. Their company isn't exactly struggling and a few concessions here and there could win them more business. Instead they are pushing customers away. In terms of market share they have slipped down to the third largest provider in the UK, behind O2 and Everything Everywhere. These practices are sure to continue facilitating that slide.
So long as that slide continues, the remaining customers will be further squeezed and how long will it be before enough people hate Vodafone so much that the company is actually in financial difficulty? There's only so much consumers will stand for after all.0 -
Well ive sent 3 emails stating that these new charges will be more than 10% increase. I sent one to the web relations team normal customer services and the guy larence fella. See who responds first. I spoke to customer services earlier they said post a message on the eforum at voda so I di that too. All saying will reply in 24 hours so let see whos the first to reply. I got three data charges last month totalling 15 quid but with the new charges would be 30 quid only 6 quid of my full tariff. Will post when I hear mors. I aint heard anyone who has cancellex due.to the increase but fingers crossed0

I've fired off an email rejecting the change. The basis of my complaint is that I was missold unlmited internet at the beginning of my contracts for my family (twice, with two phones bought one month apart).
I was then repeatedly lied to by various call centre staff about the package I had until the cooling off period had ended. Getting anything in writing was impossible.
They gave me compensation and promised out of bundle charges wouldnt exceed £5 per 500mb.
Pretty sick of Vodafone now. I dont want much more to do with this company.0 -
When the 10% thing came out for me with data charges last year I thought an email will suffice. Wrong! Their web team said I had to send in a letter, so I emailed their executive team to say if a contract could be incepted online then surely my letter of notice had to be accepted? Oh no.
My cancellation letter was on a PDF file with a scanned signature, address, account number - the works, but that was unacceptable. So all I did was print out the PDF file, put it in an envelope and mail it in - Vodafone refused to accept anything else.
(If you are posting anything, make sure it is sent tracked. Tracking doesn't cost much but it is well worth it in the event of any disputes).0
