No children here, but though we'd like to eat earlier we rarely find ourselve eating before 9 ish, perhaps 8:30pm atm, more like 10pm...then go almost straight to bed (after a quick walk with the dogs). We tend to just keep doing stuff in the daylight...a bit of gardening, some moving stuff, etc etc. It is not great at all eating that late, it doesn't feel healthy. If we stop earlier though we find it hard to get back to ''work'' after that.
edit: that's only at weekends, because its just me during the week, but take tonight...dh's train won't get in until 8 or so, by the time we are home it will be 8:30...then delaing with excited animals who all want to kiss and cuddle him at the same time and because of the light it will be putting the chickens etc away when back, not before I go....so say 8:45 before I've started cooking, and (its a quick cook supper tonight) 9/9:10 before we are eating and that's if I am really efficient.0 -
Blimey, there is a big difference between people. I seriously expected everyone to say about 7.30.
My parents always eat at 5, maybe wait until half five for my sister to get home and cook something, but moaning if so. My sister would be likely to microwave something. My parents eat cold food at tea time, maybe sandwiches, maybe a salad, sometimes chips (not that they are cold) and have their main meal at lunchtime.
I'm usually home about half seven to eight, which means eating between 8 and 9. It can be as late as 10.
I prefer to have a proper cooked meal in the evening - my parents are farmers so they have the option, I don't - although I have noticed that if I eat sooner I don't usually get hungry, although my boyfriend does.0 -
my son doesn't have a nap at all during the day and wakes early and he is sometimes awake til gone 10mildred1978 wrote: »Anytime between 10pm and midnight. He's never up before 10am. I was exactly the same as a baby. It suits us.0 -

The kids eat about 5pm usually, they are really hungry by then. That's too early for me and my OH doesn't get in till later, anywhere between 7-10pm!
I don't worry about all sitting down together thing - I guess it depends on your upbringing/culture etc? We didn't do it often when I was growing up and I had, and still have, a very close and happy relationship with all my family.0 -

Tonight about 6:15 but it can be any time between 5.30 - 6.30. We like to eat with the children and the youngest goes to bed at 7 so we can't eat later than 6.30. The OH finishes before 5 so he gets home in time.0
