Just as the title says really. I'm interested to know on average what time families sit down for their evening meal. Also, do you all sit down together or stagger the meals for children & then adults?
We try & all sit down together at between 5-6pm, although some days this is later due to working later. The latest we've had dinner is 7pm.
Just wondering about others really...

All sit down at the table together, feel this is really important.
2 nights per week dinner is about 5.10pm as I need to leave for work. Other nights can be between 5-7ish depending on whats for dinner, how long it needs to cook for and so forth. Please do not quote spam as this enables it to 'live on' once the spam post is removed.

Between 6.30 and 7, we both finish at 5 but he has to travel 60 miles so by the time I've cooked it and he's home it's about half six. DD has a snack after school to keep her going.:j little fire cracker born 5th November 2012 :j0

Thanks for the quick replies. Although our son is only 18 months old we try & sit down all together every day (apart from when work; etc get in the way) & discuss our day or just talk in general. Me usually babbling away about carp!!
Was wondering about the "modern" way as when I was growing up dinner was always on the table by 5pm (and still is at my parents house!) but I just don't know how mum ever did it! She had a full time job as well! She never seemed to stress about what to have for dinner as it was always organised in advance. My husband hates knowing what's for dinner the next day, although I need to know so I don't stress when getting back from work!! Depends on the day..
Monday and Wednesday we have dinner about 4:30 as the children go out to various clubs
Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.. assuming the children are home we eat around 5/5:30 .. or at least that is what I aim for.
Saturday and Sunday usually about 6pm.
if the children are at their dads OH and I eat about 8pm after the baby is in bed.. and he usually cooks when it is just us 2.. or we sneak a takeaway!
It has currently been a little later than I would like as I am pregnant and cant stand in the kitchen and it takes me a good 3 hours to summon the energy and motivation to walk to the kitchen.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0

We always sit down together between 5/6pm, however when i lived at home my mum did tea for 5pm or earlier, but i dont like it this early as im hungry again by 9pm and start snacking !0

Aren't you all early birds - maybe its a north/south thing. My OH doesn't get home till 7, then we do LO's bedtime routine, I have a shower, so don't start cooking till gone 8 - so its rarely on the table by 9.
Do you not get hungry again eating so early on?We Made-it-3 on 28/01/11 with birth of our gorgeous DD.0
