Where do you all get these kids who sleep for 10+ hours? I'm so jealous, none of mine have needed much sleep and youngest only slept 2 hours a night until he was about 6.
We don't have a dining table as we had to turn the dining room into a bedroom, most nights we eat around 6 but when the kids have training it's around 9. Most of the time we have basically the same meal with small differences such as green beans instead of carrots for DS3 but sometimes, especially when there's not much food left, it's a free for all and it will be say egg and chips for one, sausage and chips for another, maybe sausage and mash but things I can make at the same time anyway using things there's not enough to feed us all on.14 Projects in 2014 - in memory of Soulie - 2/140 -
In the school holidays and at weekends we eat a little later as we get up later. In termtime we eat between half 4 and half 5. And then every other time between 5-7 generally closer to 7 depends when the kids are 'starving'. Only time its after 7 is if we get takeout.Sometimes i like to imagine that im living on the breadline as a single mum with 3 children to feed and clothe, bills to pay and very little time to myself........ then i wake up and realise im a princess with prince charming by my side and a lovely white castle........ oh wait

At my parents' house it's 6pm, everyone together, always has been.
At our house (no kids), it's normally about 7-8 because we get home from work a little later.0 -
We all eat together (although MrsLA is away during the week) at the dining table, usually around 7.00pm.0

We all eat together and it's usually about 7.15, due towork and after school activities etc.
I cook from scratch usually, if I didn't we would probably eat earlier!
When my DD's were little they used to be up until about 10ish, when they started school we changed it so it was earlier, 8pm. They are good sleepers and have always liked a lie in. It worked for us. They are more of a nuisance now they are teenagers and still up at midnight driving me mad, than they were when they were toddlers, at least then they used to play quietly and wind down, now they are still full of beans and talking over whatever I'm trying to watch.0 -
Another question for people if you don't mind. For this people who eat between 5/6; how do you usually cook your meals? By this I mean, from scratch/ready meals/slow cooker?
Thanks
The meals are either cooked from scratch on the day or if we was having a stew, shepherds pie, lasagna etc i would cook it the night before. Meals like new potatoes & Kievs, baked potatoe & fish, spag bol, chips & sausage etc. Pizza were all cooked just before tea.0 -
LO has her tea at 5pm which is normally mashed left overs or finger foods from our tea the day before. After her bedtime routine we normally sit down to eat about 6.30pm, as the other person not dealing with lo, gets tea ready.
Our lo screams if she is put to bed any later than 6.30pm, we couldn't work out for ages why she used to cry around this time, she loves her sleep just like her mummy, and wakes for milk at 6.45am, then back to bed and has brekki at 8am.
Works for us as I can rarely keep my eyes open past 10.30pm:j baby lauren born 06/01/2011 + got married 02/07/2011 :j0 -
Dinner is always evening. Usually between 5-6.30, although Sundays may be earlier.0

about 5/6, but that's just because I get hungry!
I think it's more of a class thing rather than a north/south divide (but you could argue it is as historically north had a greater working class): http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/8223453.stmNOW DEBT FREE :jNEW FINANCIAL GOALSCAR COSTS POT : £0.00/£550.00________ REGULAR COSTS POT : £0.00/£396.25£3K BEFORE 30 : £0.00/£3000.00_______£200 HOLIDAY FUNDS BY 2012 : £0.00/£200.000 -
