Until he's a toddler, into absolutely everything and is still running around till midnight driving you mental
It's none of my business, but I'm really shocked at that.
I don't understand why you'd be shocked?
He's a very placid, sociable and bright boy (was sleeping through at 8 weeks and walking at 10 months) who is into everything already. I've organised our life so that he gets plenty of activity in the afternoon, and he's dead on his feet by 10pm normally. Occasionally he's still awake at 11pm playing, but that doesn't bother a single person he comes into contact with. For 9 months he didn't leave my side. He's quite at home in restaurants, other people's houses and so on, so I don't feel I've lost my social life. I function best later at night. I've given up work. His toddler groups meet at noon.
My husband works away during the week. I drop off and pick up at the station at 9pm+ twice a week. How would that work if LO was in bed?
None of us has any reason whatsoever to be up at 7am, so we're not.

It used to be that I fed the kids at 5pm as hubby was still at work then the two of us would eat at 8pm. Now he gets in at 4.30pm it's great, we all have dinner together at 5pm (and I don't have to cook twice!):TCross Stitch Cafe member No. 32012 170-194 2013 195-207.Hello Kitty ballerina 208.AVA 209.OLIVIA 210.ELLA 211.CARLA 212.LOUISE 213.CHARLEY 214.Mother & Child 215.Stop Faffing Completed 2014 216.Stitchers Sampler. 217.Let Them Be Small 218.Keep Calm 219. I suppose thats ok until he starts school and he is like a walking zombie and unable to get up in the mornings. I suppose you could start phasing it out and getting him to bed earlier as you get closer to starting school. I am a night owl and can't really go to bed until past 12 at the earliest but I feel like total carp every morning it's horrible.0 -

I fully expect things to change by the time school/nursery come along :rotfl: No good reason to do anything differently yet

Thanks once again for the quick replies. (I'm up at this time as I'm a light sleeper & little one has rolled over a couple of times in his sleep...yes, a VERY light sleeper! Lol)
I too was surprised at feeding a one year old at 8/8.30 & bed between 10/12 but then thought about my neighbour. With her little one I am always seeing her going on bike rides/playing outside; etc. at 9pm ish so was not so shocked after remembering this. She goes to bed between 10 and midnight also & sleeps until 10/12 the next day. My neighbours are not early birds & so this suits them. For me, my son goes up with his milk & biscuits at 7pm for a bath, then story & then in to bed before 8pm. My neighbour thinks this is weird as when I say he's up between 6&7am she winders why anyone would want to be up at this time! It works for us!!
Another question for people if you don't mind. For this people who eat between 5/6; how do you usually cook your meals? By this I mean, from scratch/ready meals/slow cooker?
Thanks

we don't get in from work til 6ish so 6.30-7. Now dd is starting school I'll be finishing at 3 some days but can't imagine we'll change much as hubby still won't get in til 6.
Mildred - a good few years til you have to worry about school yet, a 10am start sounds idyllic to me with a 6am riser ;-)People seem not to see that their opinion of the world is also a confession of character.
