    Hi Turk47

I'm sorry you're unhappy with the service you've received from us in the past.

Not sure of the circumstances from your posts but, as Joyful says, once the Ombudsman has ruled we're bound by this and cannot alter the decision.

Ty Malc glad to see there is someone decent at your place:beer:

If you genuinely think your meter is faulty you should have no problems paying for the meter to be tested. As this is done independantely from your supplier, if the meter is found to be faulty they will return the price you paid for the test. Your supplier would then rebill you.

If this has already gone to the Ombudsman I think you may have already gone done this route. If not- why not?

Why don't you post the Energy Ombudsman adjudication?

That way, posters will be able to understand the details of the case.

I can only think that a legal action to win damages for your alleged losses is your next step. If you want advice on that, I am sure posters will help, but at the moment the claims are incoherent.

Thank you Joyful.... but why should I or anyone else pay for a test when these Companys kno whats going on?

I also genuinly kno the meter is wrong, because here in England the time is exactly 9.18/or 21.18, but my meter tells me a didfferent time...... anybody who is genunily concerned please take a meter reading tonite, and also check what time is on your meter. because tommorow it goes up, and why should people pay for electric on faulty meters?

Thanks backfoot, I not want any claim or anything else, I just want people to understand and not get ripped off, as in my case its gone on to long and all these so called organisations are getting paid by the electric companys, I have done this so someone in high authority hopefully take notice...and no one else should suffer..

Thank you and everyone else for there advice ty.

The reason I know its inaccurate, is because of the minutes it gains at certain times. I have also done a power !!!umption check loads of times.
Do you mean a power consumption test?

As for the issue of the minutes gained, can you explain some more - or would this come under intellectual property?

Meters can often be out by as much as an hour. This does not usually cause problems so you need to give more information re this.

The reason the industry charges for testing is to stop people who use too much energy thinking the meter is faulty when it is normally how they are using it. This way a customer will be made to think more carefully about the problem without jumping into testing. The billing company does not own the meter and if no charge was put in place then everyone would wanting there meters tested whenever we have a cold spell. By charging but giving the money back again only if there is a genuine faulty meter this stops the waste of everybodies time.

If you have not done this then you cannot complain about a faulty meter and be believed that it really was faulty. What was the Ombudsmans ruling?
