I do not begrudge any member of staff that gets a bargain before it goes on sale to the public.

This is the same in every single line of business, it is a small perk in what is an altogether thankless customer service job.

Yea but there's perks and plain greed, sorry but even shop floor staff at our store were annoyed when in spoke to a few as managers cleared most of it, huge crates I got told managers had off,
They get paid enough as it is poor floor staff never got a look in and one told me she asked for a barbie to bf put away , managers said no and as she left same manager had them in boot of the car loaded with everything else

    Hi All

Well done on all your bargains!! I got a couple small toy things for pressies but none of the shavers, straighteners etc, I would have gave DH the shaver but not so sure if I would have bought the other stuff (cos I don't need it) but the one thing I was desperate for was the one thing I couldn't see anywhere - a lumie light for my aunt who suffers from SAD and Fibromyalgia, the body clock would help her SAD and perhaps stop her being so down about the FM, if she is not worrying about the sad then the FM might not seem so bleak (IYKWIM) :o If anyone has a spare, I would be more than willing to pay all P&P and paypal costs etc as I know she would just love one of these but I cannot afford full price for one :( I don't have anything to swap as my local are on the ball apparantly. TIA x

I beg to differ then. I certainly do begrudge any member of staff witholding stock before it goes on sale to the public. It is not right or ethical in my opinion and I'm sure there is something about this in their Employment T&C's?. It certainly was the case when I worked there.

All stock whether it be in the sale or not is there to be sold to customers of Tesco and should not be stashed away in the stockroom by some selfish staff member until they finish their shift.

Managers should clamp down on this and disciplinary action taken where appropiate.
