Had a great day today. Cancelled my £179 Technika 32" and bought the Sony on offer at Argos instead.

Just before lunch bought loads of gardening stuff including a fab barbeque and solar lights, willow planters etc. Used a £5 off voucher. Also bagged a breadmaker for £3.70.

Called for my TV later on at Argos (opposite Tesco) so had to pop in again. Bought a Kenwood toaster for £5.50 (£50) and was over the moon to find a sony e-reader that scanned at £20!!!!

Yesterday mum got a dvd player for £4.50 and the manager offered her a sat nav for a tenner . I stuck my pet lip out so he checked the stockroom again but couldn't find anything but at least he made an effort. Staff have been great at St St**hens.

I'm still hunting for an iron but it's just great fun looking!! Really grateful for all our lovely bargains!! Went to the B*v *rley Road branch and picked up the Morphy Richards double underblankets for £2.50.

Am totally addicted to this - kicking hubby out of bed in morning to get the Argos offer and will be nosying around Tescos again. Some of the staff have started greeting me as I go past :) Don't even try to be discreet anymore - my huge list gets whipped out here and there. Maybe I should put the pdf thingy on my new e-reader. It's a thing of beauty!!!

Only problem I have is facing the credit card statement :(

Whats the Sony offer at argos? I've just picked up one of the technika 32" but saw on here that it had bad reviews and I'm worried about it now!

(those K-Mix toasters are lovely aren't they, managed to get one for MiL's xmas but if it had been a 4 slice I would have been keeping it!)

Thanks for this you've saved me petrol, it's so rubbish in there :( Might start venturing further and trying B1shop

I haven't had any luck at B1shop, they have working scanners which makes life easier. I am sure the staff think I am a nutter always comming in with a trolley wandering back and forth to the scanner and leaving with nothing. It is worth a look though, you may find something.

I havent posted anything on this board but have been a lurker so wanted to 'give' something back this evening.
After seeing a few people on the toy thread mention looking on the dot com grocery section for offers i randomly typed in 'iron' and it is showing a pink tesco value ir08 iron for 40p. HTH someone.

  • Oh my word what an evening i've had. I really want one of those Lumie Arabica's for my daughter and a Bodyclock for me so I decide to try further afield but in the opposite direction of my usual stores. I decided to go to the T's at Shirley and then call at the two in Coventry. So I set off fine, find the Shirley one which is 40 mins from me but nothing there. Set off for the Coventry one... can't even find the store! Sat nav tells me i've reached my destination but i'm in a high street somewhere and no signs of it.

Then decide to try the other one which is apparently 9 mins away. No problem, found that one ok. Then set of and nearly got home when I discovered the M42 was shut at J10. So I had to set a diversion and my time to home went from 11 mins to 48 mins.... and i'd already been travelling about three hours :(

So i've just walked in from 7.30 this evening. No Lumies to be seen. All I managed to get was two epilator 3's. Oh well, shouldn't complain, at least I didn't come back empty handed.

Do you have a model number? There's quite a few different Sony ereaders. I believe the PRS-300 is £17, but when I checked the PRS-350 and PRS-650 about a week ago they were full price.

Was in H@mpt@n today and saw the Black n Decker sanders, took one to elec desk to get price checked, guy scanned it then pulled a funny face and said £39.99
Yep found these in my store and thought I was on to a winner until it scanned at £39.99. Think the cheap one might have been a slightly different model?!

On a side note headphones are worth checking. Found a few with shelf prices at £40 and an asterisk on the SEL scanning at around £5.
Wanted a job, now have one.
  • Just back from carr*ckferg*s store northern Ireland, they have the George foreman compact 3 portion grill for £5 and a kenwood triblade 11 function hand blender for £4. Still more of both items on the shelf hth
