'...Tesco says it is investing £500 million in its 'Big Price Drop' which begins on Monday.
The supermarket will cut the cost of more than 3,000 products such as milk, bread, fruit, vegetables and other essentials.
It's not all good news on price drops as Tesco will also remove some multi-buy offers'
  • ah thats right, one their employees mentioned the change as of monday
  • Rubbish, I was starting to get excited!
I wondered why the cost of groceries had been going up and up at Tesco lately....now I know!

The laptops did not suddenly come down from £400 to £50 each, they will have been something like 300, 200, 150, then 100 - the Tesco staff know this and have probably been keeping them back from selling to customers for months when many would have been bought at the higher prices. They seem to think because they pay for them it's not stealing, but their job is to sell goods to customers - and when they don't and hold them back for their benefit - obtaining goods by deception IMO, a criminal act.

Unfortunately not obtaining property by deception, as they are a tesco employee they have the choice wether or not the product goes out, it would never stand. However it is a breach of their internal policies and procedures but they would never prove it unless its out the back with their names on it, however they would just reserver it under the name of one of their family members and deny all knowledge. Considering the managers are all part of the plot I doubt this would go anywhere either.

I think this post hits the nail on the head and highlights why tesco staff are not supposed to have the bargains themselves. Its not Tesco being anto their staff, but its Tesco protecting themselves from abuse.

MOST stores and MOST staff play by the rules although some will have taken some of these bargains for themselves and to be fair I can understand that, it is afterall what most people would call perks of the job.

What IS however wrong is when line managers and their little group of chosen friends wade in and take it all for themselves and lie to the customers waiting outside the store cupboard waiting for the stock and also while the queue of other customers grows at the electrical checkout, specially when that particular store has way way more of these bargains than any other store. It stinks and it stinks bad. I've done a little digging and the finger always seems to be getting pointed in the same direction as I'm looking. Seems like the store has a rotten apple in its barrel. I hasten to add that most staff in that store are top notch, friendly and super helpful.

So mr suave and sophisticated in your 500 quid suit, posh shoes, designer glasses and swanky walk, you are about to get rumbled as this week a letter is gonna be winging its way to the top man! I hope your collar is beginning to feel a little tight this evening. ;)

No, this is seperate and has been advertised in the store for a bit. These signs say 'due to unforseen circumstances we are having to close our store early tonight' and the man I spoke to seemed very harrassed and spoke of a 'problem' on the system. Tesco would NEVER close for 6 hours just for a sale, too much money to be lost. Something is definitely going on.
