Interesting. All close at 4pm in England and Wales. Always wondered why the smaller stores like Spa and Tesco Express can open until 11pm, but by law the supermarkets can't.
I live in scotland too and when we went on holiday in England we had to go get shopping on the sunday and we found a 24 hr tesco..we were dumbfounded when they wouldnt let us in as it was closing at 4pm!!

I believe this is down to the size (square foot) of a store... with smaller ones being allowed to trade for more than the 6 hours otherwise prescribed.
Announcement at my local "due to unforeseen circumstances this store will not open at 12.01 tonight but at 6am"You were only killing time and it'll kill you right back0 -

Did you just lift them and check them at the scanner yourself - r were you prepared to pay the £100? Id hate to carry loads all the way to the till and then say no thanks? Did you notice wre any sel giving the correct reduced prices?0 -
Oooooooooooo this sounds exciting!!!!! My dad has just given me a list of stuff he wants me to have a look for!! I could really do with a printer and some iPhone speakers!!
I'm just wondering whether to try and go down at 12:01 to see if they are open or wait will 6am!!!
xxxThanks to all the comp posters, you are brilliant! :T0 -
No - I went armed with a list (and noticed several other people with lists in the electrical dept!). I looked for the Technika swivel-speakers but couldn't find any and scanned a few of the headphones, but they all came up at full price. They also only had full price portable DVD players. What I really really would like is the Garmin cycle computer but they didn't seem to stock anything like that. I also checked the model numbers of the Kenwood food mixer but couldn't see any of the older stock. They did have some reduced straighteners yesterday, not sure if there are any left now. I did not ask about stock out the back though, just lurked to and from the self-scanner.
thanks, didn't see anything but as i was giving up they came out with a load of toys to stocked up big time for xmas, this was just before closing on an end ilse. Quite a bit left as well due tothe store closing. They might have been stocking up more as well.0 -
