I did forget to say that I had an NSD today
I'm also claiming about £45 in expenses tomorrow. Thats 4 days of petrol and £5 to go towards my course.DEBT TOTAL: £7609.440 -
Don't get disheartened Squidge!
I would personally concentrate on clearing all your debts - that would give you extra each month to save towards the course you're after.
Have you looked at grants etc. regarding the course? Might be worth considering.I was a DFW, now I'm a MFW :T0 -
If I do the course I'll be reducing my hours at work and will be entitled to working tax credits which will help me out. I can also do overtime on the days off.
I'm going to have a clear out and do a carboot sale. That money will go towards the course and so will a bit from my expenses each week,DEBT TOTAL: £7609.440 -
So I've had a think and decided to wait until September. It gives me January to August to save up as much as I can ready for the level one and then some of it saved up for the level two.
In the meantime there is a home study course that will teach me more of the theory side of things - how to deal with bookings etc. Its £160 so I'm going to get that in January and do that on the side of work. I'm also going to volunteer to offer my services for free in the local hairdressers answering the phones, taking bookings and sweeping the floors so that I can be gaining some experience. I know it's not debt busting by offering services for free but if they agree it's experience with them possibly taking me on at the end of it.DEBT TOTAL: £7609.440 -
It might not be debt busting in the strictest sense of the word but it is very MSE in how much you can gain from it. Plus, if you show them how fab you are then they might offer you are job or put in a good word for you.0

That was my way of thinking it. The experience will be worth more in the long run if it helps me to get the career that I'm after.DEBT TOTAL: £7609.440

If they get you washing the old ladies hair and giving them their coats & tea etc, you're bound to make some tips too
I used to work in a salon when doing a hair dressing course at college many moons ago & one day a week we had to go to a salon, i always looked forward to it as i usually made a mint :P

Sounds good to me! I cut my boyfriends hair yesterday and he loves it.

I've decided that as I'm completely addicted to handbags I'm going to start up a blog and review all the new bag styles etc coming out. If I get enough publicity from it then I might get a bit of money from it.
It's worth a try I supposeDEBT TOTAL: £7609.440 -
So here's my summary so far:
*My wages are still messed up and if work don't sort them out I can't pay my phone bill.
*I've taken lunch to work every day
*I've decided I'm going to have a clear out over the weekend and hopefully find enough stuff to do a car book. If there isn't enough for a car boot I'm going to put it on ebay.
*I'm going to concentrate on knocking my debt amount down properly after Xmas. The only stuff I'll have to pay out for after then is my car MOT and tax.
*I'm going to start blogging and try and find ways to get paid for it.
*I'm going to seriously cut down on my spending.DEBT TOTAL: £7609.440
