Time to get it sorted

  • I've added another 15p to my Onepoll account. I'm getting a bit fed up of being told that the surveys aren't for me though when I start to answer them.

I want to find stuff I can do online that will help me to earn a bit more money. My debts have gone up a bit but thats because of the issues with my wages which has now been sorted so that money will be in my bank by Weds at the latest. I won't be doing much DFW stuff with that money because it needs to last to run my car with fuel until I claim my next lot of expenses.

I need to go and check with a manager in my store as to whether or not the store I'm working in at the moment can legally reduce my expenses. I'm now only just getting my petrol covered (its now 20p a mile instead of 45p a mile) and I'm not gaining any extra money for the wear and tear on my car!

I will be recalculating my debt figure soon but I think I need to add on another £120 to that figure which means my debt is now £5740.62. I don't plan on letting it go up anymore. I think with some careful planning I can reduce it a bit. It isn't what I wanted but having to borrow money because of my wage issue has caused me a bit of an issue.

Is it wrong to give someone a Xmas present that I may not have actually bought? I have some things I was given and I have never used them so was thinking is it cheap or is it DFW to actually wrap them up and pass them onto someone else?

  • So quick update for you all. A family member has agreed to loan me £1000 because I couldn't get a loan to pay off different bits and pieces. This means that my payday loan will be done and dusted and some other bits and pieces will be paid off. It means my debt won't have gone down but I'll be saying goodbye to the stupid payday loan and will have a no interest loan to pay off while I can.

I am seriously going to work hard after January to get my debts decreased so a much more determined Squidge will be around after New Year. I'll still be here between now and then doing the few little bits I can in between times.

On the plus side my wages have been sorted out :)

  • Right so I decided this morning to sit and work out just how much my debts have risen too and I have some serious work to do because the figure in my sig is not correct!!

    *Family member 1 = £340
    *Family member 2 = £30
*Family member 3 = £30 (to be paid on Thurs)
*Family member 4 = £20 (to be paid on Weds)

*Payday Loan = £430.82 (to be paid with loan that I mentioned in previous post which I haven't accounted for here yet as I don't have the money yet)
    *Overdraft = £974.47
*Credit Card = £3500 (don't have an exact figure until I get home)

    *Friend 1 = £100
    *Friend 2 = £300
    *Friend 3 = £100
    *Friend 4 = £50

    Total = £5866

So I do think that if my wages hadn't been so messed up lately that the figure wouldn't be so high. I will have been able to make payments and wouldn't be borrowing off of family and friends to keep myself afloat each month! All I can say at the moment is at least by Thursday that figure will go down by £50 but when my cheque clears (I collect it Weds) the figure will rise again slightly :/

I have a love hate relationship with surveys. Sometimes I will qualify for lots and then nothing. It's so frustrating!

Even though it is horrible being in debt, you need to remember that you are doing something about it. Just think about the thousands of people out there who are living each day being in debt and not really bothering about it. Lot's of people see debt as a normal part of life.
  • Thats true and I know that borrowing the money is going to help me out with the fact that it's paying off the bits gaining money i.e. the payday loan etc. It means I'll never have to use a payday loan again.

That's certainly justification for it Squidge.

Stay away from the PDL - I read so many horror stories on these forums about them I'm glad I've never had to get involved with them.
    I was a DFW, now I'm a MFW :T
  • Its a vicious circle with them but I'm glad I'm going to be out now. Things are finally sorting themselves out. I've had a few weeks of crap and now I'm starting to see the silver lining :)

  • I have the cheque to stick in the bank so I'll be working out some bits and pieces soon!

  • Keep it up Squidge - I never want to see a PDL in your totals again!

  • I won't be touching it ever again thats for sure. The cheque is making sure of that. After Xmas I'm starting straight on the debt busting.
