Why compare to flixable tickets as you already know airmiles are not flexible? we have already had that discussion which i understood you accepted when you saw the T&C's

We are talking about a BA miles booking which is 100% flexible, and 100% refundable.

    We have 54,000

Is that https://www.airmiles.co.uk or BA miles?

I was asking for manchester to Tampa, via Gatwick - our usual route.

When I spoke to a guy at BA a few years ago, he said that the Manchester shuttle is ignored when buying flights with BA airmiles.

We have 54,000 but i am beginning to think we'll never use them. Not keen on BA's Economy Plus, a very cramped cabin.

Is it BA frequent flyer miles or actual airmiles you have? There is a big differance between the two

we dont know that until the poster confirms one way or the other as she said BA Airmiles as opposed to BA frequent flyer miles

Quite a few people selling their airmiles accounts on ebay.

Anyone know if you can also sell a LTSB Companion ticket? I've got one, and 8925 miles...

I dont think so as the companion ticker holder has to travel with the orginal customer. Also be wary about advertising the fact you are selling airmiles on ebay as airmiles don't allow it.

Personally I don't care if people sell them on ebay, but if you do, please be open about the new scheme changes to be fair to the people buying them as they might get stuck with them depending on what they want to use them for. Thanks

For the informatiion of those thinking the new scheme is good:

    Shorthaul

Under the new scheme, you will be £4.50 out of pocket, (Zone 2) therfore no saving.

This example is to Barcelona, a zone two destination:

On the old scheme to fly from anywhere except London, it cost 1950 miles on the new scheme, if you fly from a regional airport it will cost you the equivalent of 1500 airmiles, a saving of 450 airmiles or 4500 Avios points. That is an equivalent saving of £22.50 in Tesco vouchers. add on the £27 capped charge and you have lost the saving and paid £4.50 more

I fail to see how that can be classed as a benefit. Airmiles are saying that a great number of customers will benefit but the deeper we dig into the scheme, the less that number appears to be, so far we have ruled out longhaul passengers now... zone 2 passengers have been ruled out. I accept there may be routes that are beneficial, but even then, not as many will benefit as Airmiles are trying to have you believe. The £27 cap only applies to BA and Iberian flights, which rules out the majority of regional airports, in which case you pay the prevailing taxes and charges at that time which can be as much as £100 within Europe

For long haul, there have been many examples of how much out of pocket you will be, this ranges from £300 to £600

You fail to highlight the flexibility of BAEC booked flights.
You also fail to highlight that the cost of a miles ticket is always the same, but cash prices increase dramatically on busy flights - if you needed a last minute flight you could potentially save thousands on long haul travel, or hundreds on short haul and domestic.
