That's nonsense. A sandwich made with fresh ingredients in the morning will not 'go off' by the end of the day, let alone lunchtime.

No, it won't.

Cheese however might start to 'sweat' which may not be all that pleasant to eat.

I'd happily eat an unrefridgerated chicken sandwich after 6 hours, in fact I often do. Don't like prawn sandwiches, whether refridgerated or not.

When I was a kid, I used to get my Dads laft over sarnies when he got home from work, this would include chicken and beef sarnies or egg mayo. Considering he had a 12 hour shift where his lunchbox would be left to sweat in his rucksack, they never did me any harm.
