Subway charging for salad ?

We had a Subway in our town that closed down but has recently reopened under new ownership
They used to have an offer of a bacon or sausage sub for 99p, and they added cheese and salad if you wanted, i usually had a BLT
Anyhoo the new owners are now charging 99p just for bacon/sausage in a sub and its 50p extra for salad and cheese.
Is this correct , i thought salad and cheese was part of the deal when you bought a sub ?

current savings: 20,500 (target hit yippee!)
Debts: 8000 (student loan so doesnt count)
new target savings by Feb 2010: 30,0000 -
I've always known subway to include the salad for free, but remember that the stores are franchised so perhaps this may explain why this particular store is charging.0

... and it may explain why the previous operator went out of business....0

It could of course be the new owners trying to pull a fast one, and make more money. I have been charged extra for cheese and/or salad in a Subway. (Extra cheese, yes, but not "single" cheese - and that was only 20p).
Perhaps contact Subway Head Office, and find out if a franchisee is allowed to charge their own prices/extra for cheese etc?0 -

Odd, isn't it?
I tried one once when I had a voucher for an opening and I found the quality average and the filling uninspiring. Much easier to make your own and you get a better sandwich.
I can see they may be useful occasionally if it's impractical to produce your own but why some people seem to live on the things is a mystery. There are two types of people in the world: Those that can extrapolate information.0 -

I only go for the 99p breakfast subs, cheaper than messing around at home for that price0
