I'd love to sign up for Glossybox.

Just finished 2 hair conditioner minis. Aveda damage remedy :heart2: it, would definitely buy again but it's expensive and Soap+Glory hair supply conditioner. Don't particularly like this but no doubt I'll acquire more with the Boots Christmas stuff coming soon.

This brings my use up total for the year to 132 so no chance of reaching the 300 I was aiming for. I think 200 is more realistic now.

  • I'm after picking some brains.

Whilst I was in Wales with my family my sis and daughter styled my hair for me using a Babyliss Rapide hot air brush, so that my bob was nicely curled under and my hair looked really thick. Splendid result.

I was going to treat myself to a hot air brush, but dug out a round brush from the pound shop or Savers that I've had for some time and got a really good result using just the brush and my ancient hair dryer, having got my hair 80% dry for starters before styling. I gave it a spritz of spray gel (forgot to mention that as an IN, oops) to help hold it as the day was rather damp. It's held all day.

Today I bought a ceramic brush from Primark for the princely sum of £1.50, a slightly smaller barrel, so I have a choice of curl sizes.

Sooo..... any hot air brush users out there who swear by the things?
Because my hair is fine, it does tend to take a curl, I've had it ruined by a perm before now.

Shall I stick with decent results from Primark and Savers brushes and ancient Pifco hairdryer?

Any reasons why a hot air brush is soooo much better? Does anyone swear by them?

  • Hey everyone. Went to the cinema to see Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy today. Was a very good film. :)

    One UU to report today:

Olay Complete Care Daily UV Cream - WIBA? - I'm not sure, to be honest. It did last for ages but I'm not sure it really did anything to my skin (apart from making it more red to start off with. My skin is so sensitive!). I think I would rather experiment with other moisturisers before I opt for this one again.

  • Hi lovelies. Ok, so I need some help in coming up with fabulous ideas. Not toiletry related but you seem an inventive bunch :-)

Thursday will be my one year anniversary with my boyfriend. I am trying to think of something to get him/do for him - I'd rather think romantic but manly! Unfortunately not one of those times I can wrap up one of my many gift sets! So like the guys equivalent of the infamous mix tape, or something that shows effort... Anything cooking related isn't possible due to the crappiness of kitchen in my studio.... Anyone have any fab ideas I can steal?

    :-)

Flirtini, how about a lovely little indoor picnic spread out on a blanket on the floor? You could do tapas and then it doesn't matter about the size of the kitchen.
Or go star gazing somewhere quiet. Sit on a hill top and look into nothingness and dream about the future. Then go home and have cocoa and snuggles - Bliss :D!

  • Flirtini, I think Kaz's suggestion is great. As a little keepsake, could you perhaps get a model of a car/bike/helicopter that he lusts after but can't afford?
Is there a magazine he always browses in the shop/suoermarket but never picks up? Perhaps a short subscription to it would fit the bill.
If all else fails, then a donation to his favourite charity with a little card telling him what you have done, and why.

One IN (no money spent as it was a win. :D).

Batiste Dry Shampoo XXL volume. My only worry is that because my hair is black, that it'll make my hair white/grey.:o

  • Hello all

Long time no posting! I don't even know if I've posted this month  I've had no INs or UU's for awhile until today.

UU 1 x Boots Skin Clear Daily Face Scrub - WIBA? Yep it's my HG of facewashes :)

UU 1 x Burt Bees Exfoiliating shower gel - WNBA, awful shower gel  not at all exfoiliating, too runny so loads comes out at once. It was a full size bottle but it only lasted approx 5weeks. It was a freebie luckily!

I have replacements for both in my stash already

    Hope all is well

  • Hi everyone,
I normally use John Frieda's curling spray to accentuate my curls and stop my hair from turning frizzy. However it is expensive even with the 3 for 2 offers. Can someone suggest a cheap but efficient alternative?
    Thanks in advance.
