Hi Ladies, sorry for being AWOL. Life has been... not busy, but just a bit down. Feeling happier today though, so just one day at a time!

Edinburgh was lovely as usual, other than the crazy winds :D

INs (I'm not even going to pretend to justify these :o)
Urban Decay 15 year anniversary eyeshadow collection (finally, a palette with all new shades!)
Urban Decay Lip Junkie lip gloss in Jilted (Total for these was £42 as had £10 on my Debenhams Beauty Club card that was expiring beginning of October [can't believe I hadn't bought anything beauty related from Debenhams for 5 months ])
Maxfactor sample (thanks Sarah!! Love the envelope and paper and my postman did too in his regular ('not more parcels') way!)
YSL Shocking mascara trial size - lady in HoF tried this on me after we'd been chatting about general makeup and Christmas releases - and for someone who collects (but doesn't use enough) mascara, I found it amazing. My eyelashes are fairly long, so all I really want is definition and volume
Maybelline One-by-One mascara black waterproof - Almost forgot this  In Edinburgh was buying my cousin's daughter the maybelline gel eyeliner, but she felt guilty about me buying it for her, so got this for myself & a gel eyeliner for sister2 (on 342 in Sainsburys) (£8.99?)

If anybody is looking for a makeup brush set, Costco have them back in, this time with eyebrow brush instead of kabuki and has a compact mirror for £18 inc VAT. I really like the brushes I bought from there so definitely recommend them.

    UU
Estee Lauder Daywear moisturiser: WIBA? Yes. Love this moisturiser and always go back to it. Thought I'd run out, but I think I saw a pot lurking in my cabinet, will have to check. Currently using a M&S Tess Daly Daily Repair spf 12 moisturiser. Bought it for £2 in the sales this year in Bluewater, and saw the same one for £7 in the M&S outlet in Livingston, Scotland :eek: It's ok, not the best, but using it as night cream as well to use it up.

I've also been sent a £25 voucher from House of Fraser  :T:T Now what to buy... ;)

I'm sorry I can't comment on all the posts I wanted to (the guys at work keep checking out the screen I'm on :o) , but hugs to everybody :)
No buying unnecessary toiletries/makeup in May: Unnecessary spend £17.60

just had a card from boots....clarins bonus time 22nd sep to 9th oct(not that anyone is interested!!!)
    Must resist.... :D

Kaz, thanks for your suggestion. I think it sounds great and am going with that - romantic and MSE. :j For some reason the multipost thing lost your quote, but thanks for your reply!
Flirtini, I think Kaz's suggestion is great. As a little keepsake, could you perhaps get a model of a car/bike/helicopter that he lusts after but can't afford?
Is there a magazine he always browses in the shop/suoermarket but never picks up? Perhaps a short subscription to it would fit the bill.
If all else fails, then a donation to his favourite charity with a little card telling him what you have done, and why.
Thanks Mcculloch - I like the idea of getting him a little something in connection with something larger he's always wanted - will have a think on that one.

If you are a phototaker there are loads of codes for free photobooks? My OH loves them as reminders of things we've done and places we've been :D I love the picnic idea too - would love to do something like that but the dogs would eat it :rotfl:
I do love this idea! He did a photoframe collage for me for my birthday, so will have to think if I can find a slightly different take on it, but it's definitely something he'd appreciate.

Sooooo the exciting news for today - we saw a flat on Saturday, made an offer there and then (only renting, sadly!) and it was accepted this morning, so it's all official - I'll be moving in with the boyfriend on 8th October!! :D:D:D Am soooo excited I've done very little work today! Now to go and spend the next 3 weeks packing up my bathroom (and it'll take that long!!!!) I think I need to invest in some plastic storage tubs on the way home.

    And toiletry related UU's;
Clinique body butter - WIBA probably not. it's nice but nothing special and not worth the price, that's for sure!

    and 3 thrown outs;
Carmex lip balm. I went to use it over the weekend, It's v old, looks a bit manky, and to be honest I just plain don't like it.
Maybelline Wonder Finish foundation - wrong colour, thin coverage, too shiny.
Maybelline matte mousse foundation in Ivory - too pale, and quiet old and a bit too dry. I've put it to one side rather than binned though, just in case it comes in handy for halloween - then it can be binned! :rotfl:

    xx
  • Hi everyone, so I have 24 outs that I sold on ebay so far! Was a mix of mineral foundations and things that I bought in a fit of madness and won't ever use. The box of stuff to sell is still full so we'll see what I can list tomorrow!

had a bit of a clear out and rotated some body lotions etc. as I was getting bored of them, so I have a couple of UU to report:j

alberto balsam tea tree tingle conditioner-WNBA- I think I still have another 2 in the cupboard:( my dad bought these thinking they were shampoo but then gave them to me. Very runny meant I went through a bottle quicker than shampoo (1 bottle of HE usually lasts 2 shampoo bottles) so not very MSE and has left my hair a matted, tangled, dry mess. I don't shave my legs so no idea what to do with the remaining bottles. I think I will take out a thicker conditioner and mix the 2 together, this will be a LHJ :(

BS moringa shower gel 60ml-WNBA- The bottle lasted quite a long time but I prefer other fruity scents and the smell of this didn't last on my skin.

which means I can treat myself to something new from the stash instead of using up the dregs of abandoned bottles:rotfl:

and that reminds me, my olay cleanser is spluttering:T

sawan- I had to google the palette (temptation!) and it looks gorgeous! also want the naked palette but can't afford it, I suppose its a blessing in disguise:rotfl:
    Toiletry spend £34.95 In: 10 out:13
  • Another UU to report Nivea rich nourishing body moisturiser, WNA as its very expensive but got this thanks to Tesco DTD. Nice enough just not worth the £5 odd when there's cheaper and better alternatives:money:
Debt free and busy treating myself:)

No more toiletries/make up until I've used what I've got stashed since Jan 2011, graduated October 2012. Restocked Dec 13..damn those sales

Hi all, hope everyone is well.
2x UU for me in the last few days.
Simple moisturising facial wash WIBA? This was the longest LHJ ever, had been open since January, bought in the Tesco buy one get two free simple deal, so still have two left :( might not open a new one for a bit.

Minus 417 hand and nail cream (part of the ridiculously expensive nail set) WIBA? I actually would, if it was available in the shops at a reasonable price, wouldn't buy the set again. Was nice, soft and soaked in nice, first time I've used up a hand cream solely on my hands.

My exfoliating scrub is sputtering, will have to cut it open.

Bad news this morning, the body shop in my town has closed down!!! Awful, where will I get my sale bargains and get my love your body free gift? Ohh I was distraught.

    :eek::eek::eek: AARRRGGGGGGHHHHHHH - must resist!!!!

One of my spluterers is now a UU - Studio 35 Nail Polish Remover. WIBA? Meh - Remover is remover to me.

Also PMON last night in Nails Inc Charlotte Street which is a lovely dove grey colour.

I am currently trying to motivate myself into continuing cleaning my flat but I am being particularly creative in distracting myself ;). *Scuttles off to browse S&G gifts at www.boots.com

  • Hello ladies.

Sawan, I really enjoyed vicariously having a beauty products shopping spree by reading your post!

Fiasco55, I too have broken into a can of Sally Hansen airbrush legs over the past couple of weeks. I realised how old my unused can was when I saw the product on sale with updated packaging (mine feature somebody wearing a faux-Burberry mini skirt, hmmmm, new can has a better outfit!). Anyway I endorse the good review. Gives a really good colour and feels nice. It's very handy when I can't be fagged putting on fake tan the night before. I want to squeeze a few more weeks of bare leg out of 2011!

One out: an Almay gel eyeliner pencil. The pencil lead had dried up and kept breaking and life really is too short isn't it?

    Some UUs:

Cool water perfume. This was on my desk at work. WIBA? Possibly, it's a nice light summer perfume. Got it in Boots when it was £12 or something. Only thing is, there are other work-friendly perfumes I like better.

French Connection bathroom 30 ml perfume. Had this in my handbag. I love this stuff even though I think the name is hilarious. Why call a perfume 'bathroom'? You'd expect it to smell like toilet duck! Luckily it doesn't, it's gorgeous and smells of lemon & grapefruit. Apparently Jo Malone did this for FC. WIBA? Oh yes. About to start on 100 ml bottle of the same!

Palmers Shea butter. Did some quick (and shaming) calculations and worked out probably bought this in 2006! Why didn't I use it? I don't think this is easy to buy any more but SD used to sell it. WIBA? Well, I might have some trouble doing so but it would be worth it. It's lovely. Makes your skin really smooth but the best thing is the smell. I've never smelled a banana leaf but I bet they smell like this.

Clinique foaming facial cleansing mousse. This stuff lasts forever. Been scooping bits from a mutilated tube for weeks. WIBA? Yes. I'm not generally a big fan of Clinique (overpriced for what you get, clarifying lotion burns your skin off, DD moisturiser unimpressive) but this stuff is the biz. Cleans your skin beautifully.

The Sanctuary foaming facial wash. WIBA? Maybe, if it was on offer. OK for the shower. No strong feelings either way.

Ruby & Millie face metal. I've got loads of this stuff as a consequence of voucher madness/red mist in Boots. I don't even think R&M stuff is that good, I only buy it with £5 vouchers. Face metal comes in a little pot and is quite a good highlighter for your face. Trouble is, the end of the pot goes manky, bitty and blobby, not recommended for facial use unless you want to look like you're a member of ABBA circa 1977. So I cunningly put it down the front of self-tanned legs for glowy effect (nb not advised in conjunction with Sally Hansen spray on gear, it rubs the SH off and makes you look as if you might have shin leprosy).

Anyway stay strong, keep away from QVC Valm, keep using up the stashes!!
