Ok right, this is getting beyond a joke with the Company!!

My mom had a brochure come through the door from Co-op travel.

In there she see's the exact holiday she has booked with Planet Cruise only roughly £1400 cheaper!!! she has phoned me so I said call Planet Cruise and tell them.

The girl got very nasty with my mom and said, well you accepted the holiday. My mom asked why they are so much more expensive than co-op (i think this is the parent company?) her reply was , well it's admin charges and just our price!!

I said, even if you lost that £900 deposit it would still be cheaper cancelling and going with Co-op! It makes me think that they have charged her more because of her cancelling the other holiday!

What is going on ? I hate Planet Cruise, and being nasty to my mom there is just no need for that!

I wish my mom would let me book her holidays for her, she is just so quick to do anything, and I think she was rushing because I was telling her to choose another holiday with the same company to try and get that deposit saved :(

    Oh what a mess :(

Oh Dear, maybe the truth is that they have not actually refunded any of the monies. Out of interest could you give the cabin grade, departure date and cruise destination.?

Just called my mom, she said the holiday destination is Caribbean, outside cabin and departing on 12/04/12.

An Ocean View (outside)starts at £2439 and that will be the cheapest available in that grade. They go up in price according to deck and location ie, a cabin midships on a high deck will be dearer than a forward cabin on a low deck. So, taking that into account the price may well be about right.

To be fair to PC they are usually good on price.

Oh yes I see, thank god you were here for me, I was ready to phone and moan tomorrow, haha I would have looked a bit silly :D Thank you again Poet!:T

My mom keep worrying that they want the balance paid by November when the holiday isn't until April. Is this normal? she keeps thinking they are going in administration or something.

"Deposits are payable at the time of booking and the amount varies between cruise lines. In accordance with ABTA guidelines, the final balance is due 20 weeks prior to departure, please check your Planet Cruise confirmation documents for exact date and amount.
This final balance payment date is often earlier than stated on the Cruise Line Confirmation as ABTA guidelines allow this additional time for receiving and processing your payment."

    Taken from their website.

We go at the end of October and we paid late July. I would always pay with a credit card though if possible, costs more but gives peace of mind, although if using a debit card there are safeguards too.
