  • Cheque paid in, most of remaining Christmas shopping done in town, ordered a bunch of stuff from Amazon and used up all my survey vouchers (£32 worth!).

Think I still have around £40 to layout on presents - but pretty happy with the spending so far.

BT and related fee not applied yet so still haven't paid money to the CC - hopeful for tomorrow.

  • Balance Transfer has still not completed, although I can see the amount is not in the available balance anymore.

Picked up another small job for £200 today, bringing me back up to 3 jobs... two of them should be completed by the end of the weekend.

Currently got 14 bids in for other work - hopeful that a couple of them will get accepted.

Earned another £5 Amazon voucher from surveys too! :)

Thanks saorsie, I appreciate anyone that takes the time to read my ramblings :) In 2013 I hope I can update my signature so it looks like yours!

Balance transfers have finally completed and fees have been applied so I've made a payment of £650 straight towards the CC which will more than cover the fees (about ~£120) and pay off a chunk of the balance.

I'm keen to get this paid off before the 9 months 0% rate ends - I need to pay around £450 to them per month to clear them in time, which is an extra £300 I need to find each month.

Got a call later on today regarding another job for £500, fingers crossed!

  • Had a bit of good luck today, small bit of history first...

Sent an email to the CEO of Santander about 3 weeks ago, complaining about the interest rate hike on my Cahoot Flexible loan since they took it over.

Anyways hadn't heard anything so decided to give them a call tonight to see how that was progressing. The operator told me that a sizeable deposit had been made to my account today but it hadn't cleared yet.

    The deposit was for £2,756.44!

I only owe ~£3,560 in total on that loan, so this leaves me owing less than £1k.

Official payment of £150 goes out tomorrow to Santander too and I've also just made an extra payment of £120 to them (profit from the £200 cheque deposited earlier this week).

Refocused slightly now with the fact that I should be able to clear the Santander loan pretty quickly as the amount owing has reduced significantly!

Going to clear the Santander loan ASAP and then use the snowballed payments to throw at the 0% credit card debt.

Celebrating with a few beers tonight - I probably deserve to :)

Ooh wow ~ that's awesome Santander, you are so going daaaaaarn!

Thank you for your kind comment IWF, I was not really in debt when I joined the good ship MSE in Nov 2009 however was rapidly heading that way as was bleeding money like there was no tomorrow ~ largely I have to say due to an over fondness for beer :o

Coming on here and reading other peoples tales, advice , hints and tips helped me put the brakes on and alter my mindset, including my attitude towards alcohol which was an unexpected and very cost effective bonus

There is a fantastic thread on here about cutting down on drinking which really helped me, fabulous bunch of people ~ will try and find the link for you in a bit

    ETA: Here you go

    Keep up the good work

  • £200 job completed, invoiced and paid. Money should have transferred to my account by next Friday. £113.40 is mine after fees and tax.

Obviously going to throw it straight at the Santander loan :) Need to keep my eye on this, as I don't want to overpay it at any point!

Planning an evening in tonight working and having a few beers with the OH.

  • Cheque finally cleared so paid another £120 toward the Santander loan.

Got the letter through this morning confirming the £2,756.44 'good will' payment from Santander.

Going to be a very good update next payday!

  • £1.01 (I know! ;)) cash back made payable on TCB - requested to withdraw it today, every little helps! Requested to withdraw a similar amount last week from another cashback site too, that should be here any day.

Very hopeful of a pitch I did yesterday for another £600 job, will find out on Wednesday if I got it or not.

Should be due another payment from iTunes soon too, although it's only for around £11 :)

My current budget for this month leaves me with about £300 - I need to get the odd small Christmas present out of this, food for 3 1/2 weeks and a small night out at the cinema. Should be doable.
