  • With all your hardwork recently the takeaway is a treat and not a "bad you" moment
    DEBT TOTAL: £7609.44
  • The money just arrived in my account now, paid £108 straight to Santander and put the rest away in the tax savings pot.

Disregarding any accrued interest since my last statement, the Santander balance should now be at around £179 :)

I just read back and saw that one of my original goals was to get the Santander loan under £3k before the New Year, and now it appears that I may actually close the account before the New Year instead!

  • You'll be debt free well soon I reckon!
    DEBT TOTAL: £7609.44
  • I'm planning on racing you to the finish line Squidge!

Not much going on DFW wise - got one week remaining at work until I'm off for three weeks, in which I'll be putting lots of hours into the freelance work! (which I'm doing already, but it's limited by my time that is available).

Did a massive shop yesterday which should keep us going until next payday (week on Wednesday) barring the regular milk & bread top-ups required.

All Christmas related spending is done and gone, we've spent more this year than any year before I think, but we've not spent anything on CC's etc. or increased the debt at all, probably for the first time ever! Lots more thought and planning went into each and every present, and a lot of vouchers and hard work have made it so much more worthwhile.

One thing I do need to do is find out if it's possible to overpay on the Halifax Loan I took out recently - I hope so as the idea of saving up the 'settlement figure' to pay it of in one go doesn't appeal to me at all, I like to see debts reduce directly by what I pay towards them!

  • You'll be there way before me!

  • I forgot to ask where you get all of your freelance work from? I'd love to be able to do some freelance stuff on the side to boost my funds
    DEBT TOTAL: £7609.44
  • I use PeoplePerHour.com Squidge.

    Hope it helps :)

  • Cool. Do I advertise on there or do I bid to do jobs for people?
    DEBT TOTAL: £7609.44
  • Register as a freelancer. Look for jobs that clients have posted or subscribe to the daily email of new jobs for your chosen categories. (I do a bit of both, but always check the daily email).

Got £5.06 in my bank account to last me for the next 9 days :) Gave the OH my last £10 to keep us in bread and milk etc. for that period too.

Not too bothered as we did a massive shop the other day which with a bit of careful planning will keep us until pay (which is, surprisingly, 9 days away!).

Working my nuts off on the freelance jobs - only got another 4 days of the 'day job' then off for three weeks and I aim to put a lot of time into the freelance jobs.

Wishing my life away waiting for each payday - only until this time next year I tell you!

  • I've registered as a freelancer. I'm just trying to find jobs that I can do...
