  • I redid some maths and nearly overpaid my dad on my car finance! Thats an extra £100 in my account this month
    DEBT TOTAL: £7609.44
  • Great news Squidge!

Got a bit of good news myself this morning in the post too - Halifax have offered me a 0% balance transfer on my credit card!

This means I can move the entire Cahoot & Barclaycard debt to my empty Halifax card and all my CC debt will be at 0%.

    Really chuffed with this :)

  • Ace - I'm just going to update my sig and my spreadsheet and then post an update in my diary :)
    DEBT TOTAL: £7609.44
  • Opened up a Cash ISA and transferred all my put-aside money to pay the tax bill into it. Might as well earn some tax free interest on it!

Forgot to take the cheque into town with me today so haven't deposited it yet - will do so on Tuesday (off work).

  • And it's payday tomorrow, including quarterly bonus!

Looks like the debt is going to drop quite a lot when I update the figures tomorrow night :)

So, Sunday night updates have come in early in my online banking so able to do an update now!

Balance transfers haven't been applied yet, so this debt should increase by about £120, but...

    August balance was: -£17,930.56
    September balance was: -£17,615.78
    October balance was: -£17,431.53
    November balance is: -£15,626.32!

Approximately £1,800 cleared in a month :rotfl:

Very very pleased with this progress, although I imagine my next update will reduce this by minimal amounts only (pretty much due to how the dates have fallen this month).

All that extra work has really paid off - just need a few months off now to recover... only kidding!

  • Wow that is AWESOME progress. Wish mine was going that quickly!
    DEBT TOTAL: £7609.44
  • Cheers Squidge, I appreciate the support!

Remainder of the week (day job) off work. Plan of attack is to do as much Christmas shopping tomorrow with the OH and then work on the freelance jobs for the rest of the week and clear what I've got (2 jobs), which should give £1,150 all in, less fees and tax comes out at £621.

Going to pay that £200 cheque in tomorrow too and do a few other little chores that have built up.

Waiting for the balance transfer to be applied before I make an overpayment to ensure that the BT fee is cleared as soon as it hits the account. Looking to pay £800 straight to it (which incorporates the money received from the £200 cheque).

I'd like to see the debt below £15k for Christmas - watch this space!
