  • I've just looked at my budget and payday is going to be ace :) - There are a few things I'm going to be able to say on payday I managed to pay off and gradually pay bits throughout the month as I get my expenses.

  • I'm jealous turbo.jet, the debt-free status in your signature is taunting me!

I'm thinking this payday is going to be a good one for me too Squidge, mainly because all the residual interest on the cards I paid off last month will also be cleared and I'm keen to end next month on the right side of the overdraft

Nothing much really happens for me money wise when payday is approaching, although I got £2.10 Quidco cashback deposited today, the £45 from the small freelance job and my work expenses should get paid out on Friday too. The other freelance job is going ok as well, hoping to get that finished within the next week.

Managed to pick up a few 'known' Christmas presents for the kids last weekend as had a Toys R Us 20% off voucher. I'd planned to do Christmas shopping at the end of November, but the DFW in me couldn't pass up this offer!

Surveys are going slow, but good. Claimed another £5 Amazon voucher from MySurvey today which will again go into the Christmas shopping pot.
    I was a DFW, now I'm a MFW :T
  • I have about £4 saved up in copper in an old coffee jar. As soon as the pot is full I'm going to take it to a coinstar machine and get it changed. It can then go to my savings or towards the debt depending on how much I actually fit into the pot lol!

Squidge does your bank have one of those machines? The reason I say it is the ones in the supermarkets take a %age of your money, whereas the ones in banks just deposit it straight in your account.

Sorry - I really don't want to taunt anyone. I did feel really bad when I first became debt free about posting on this thread, and I deeply wished everyone on here could be debt free too. I spoke to a couple of people about this who assured me that it was actually motivating to hear my story/see my signature.

I was in debt for a long time don't forget :)

  • I don't know to be honest with you. I know the coinstars take 8.9% per pound. The only other option is to find some coinbags and count it all out seperately.

It's worth checking out. I'm with HSBC and in their smarter branches they have the machines, they are identical to coinstar machines, except they don't take a cut.

Are you in London? Coinbags are not the only other option! :)

  • I'm not in London unfortunately. My bank prefers people taking the money in already counted and prepped in coinbags lol

Oh definitely, I was just congratulating you in my own 'special' way :)

It's always motivating when someone else achieves DFW... one day it will be me!
