Believe it will happen.
Against all the odds, my son received a heart, with probably only days to live. (aged just 7 months)
11 years on, all is well and he did a 5k run for his transplant team this summer.
Once this latest news has sunk in a little, focus on the new beginning you will have. I'm so glad to read you are sharing all this with someone.
Look after yourself, don't push yourself too hard and I really hope that it won't be a long wait for you.

How lovely a first kiss is, I hope there are many, many more.
Have been inspired to sign up to the Organ Donor Register (thanks Mme. Hibou for posting the link ) I do carry a Donor card but tbh someone could have a hard time finding it amongst the huge pile o' carp in my handbag.

Aww this thread made me cry! I think you have done the best thing in telling him. I hope you enjoy your time together. 6 months of happiness is better than 6 month of been alone.

My family know Jilly as they're all donors too, my Mum actually got me a donor card and told me that I was a donor rather than asking me! My DH isn't a donor though (various strange fears that I blame his parents for) but I'm working on him; it's such a worthy thing to do, I like to know that I can provide someone with a second chance when I'm gone.
