    Morning All

Just a quick post before we head for DS&GF's new place - mountain of work to do, quite a lot of "bodging" of things. They have lining papered the walls and then emulsioned them Brilliant White throughout the flat - but the lining paper is bubbling in loads of places - not the best application we have seen. Trying to decide if it needs re lining papering the opposite wasy (horizontal) or if it has to come off first.

Front door and bathroom door sticking - so DH & GF's Dad will tackle those those, and try to fix the lounge wooden floor - think it is more glued planking 5" wide rather than floor boards. The skirting is also just like a plank. In the kitchen they have tried to lime wash the pine units, but when you clean them it comes off, so a bit of work to be done there then, they will look better back to pine. DH cut the worktop yesterday so they can get a FF in rather than just a fridge. Also had to move a pine unit, which was open with small draws at the bottom, DS&GF hate it, so that will be going on freecycle today, the old under the counter fridge went on yesterday. They slept there last night, maybe with just a pathway to the bed from the door.

Right have to get off now - will be back later.

NPM hope you feel better soon
    Lou have a big hug

    Take care all - DG

Re the bubbles in the paper, if you paper over horizontal wise, pierce then peal back the unstuck bubbled paper and apply some paste to stick it flat otherwise the paper you put on top will only stick to the bubbled paper and the bubbles will still show through. If it really is bad then I would remove it and paper fresh. I used to use a squeezy mop and wash the walls with warm water like you would do a floor, let it soak in for 5mns, the paper comes off easily saving a lot of time and effort. Hth

    Hi all,

NPM - don,t worry Hun, it,ll all come out in the wash - a bit of space and things wil come right xx

Lou - hugs to you and you OH

I had a spurt of energy today after yesterdays 'day off', I have put on both Slow cookers, the big one full of 2 kg of mince with veg etc to make a huge batch of Shep Pie base, and Chill ( will split later to finish off) all destined for the freezer. The other a lamb tagine, possibly for dinner with half for freezer.
Aquired a huge brisket joint for £10' thats now split into 3 joints and also made up 3 veg stew packs for easy meals at some point, again all in the freezer.
Will bake this afternoon, flapjacks, twinks and brownies planned:D

Was glorious sunshine this morning - have washed all the clothes OH has hung them all out and now its torrential rain:mad: will leave it out for now then rinse and spin and try again.........:(
Have had a bit of a spend this morning about £50' will take this out of Sept budget as most of it was for the freezer HM 'ready meals'.

    Take care all x

Ohhh nearly forgot! Have been very naughty and spend £35 on ebuy I bought the Andrew James food slicer I have been craving - well it was half price:rotfl::rotfl: I will take that out of my Sept budget too as I had promised that I wouldn,t buy it till I had the money :o:o

House is tidied, OH and I have had our daily arguement :o i have texted him to say we need to stop fighting so much. The only stress we have in our life is money - and he just doesn't understand bills need to paid, i don't think he realises how much it costs to live where we do. We pay a premium because of our postcode and i think if he wants to have more spending money we need to look to move to the outskirts of a town or something.

Just watching great british bake off, then heading out with pup for a little while. It's raining but we could both do with some fresh air before settling back on the sofa for the rest of the day!!

    Hugs NPM x

NPM Don't fret love. He will come back after he has cooled down, it doesn't help things when you are not feeling well either and things tend to seem 100 times worse than they actually are. Try and find some time to sit down and talk things through as a couple (without Noah if possible, can anyone sit with him for a while?) x x x

Lou... Your luck has got to change soon. I hope DH is out of hospital soon and that things start to improve for you both ((((((Hugs))))) and xxxxxxx

Beth... Good for your OH :T you really need to see someone about the sickness and loss of weight (((((((Hugs)))))))

I hope you are feeling a bit better today Tappers (((((((((Hugs))))))

Have managed to get the washing on the line today, it really didn't dry much on the airers last night and I have done another load this morning.

Felt lost without our little four legged lodger this morning, it was really strange not having him greet me as I got up.

Dinner is in the oven...... roast chicken and all the trimmings and I have made a good old fashioned rice pud for dessert.

Our friends are really pleased with the work DH did yesterday and popped down this morning with £20 so that we can go out for a carvery meal next week...I hate taking money from friends :o but they insisted.

DH has just popped over to another friend to fix his computer - but we have a barter system going with him cos he is a white goods engineer and he has just got me a lovely reconditioned oven and he always fixes my wm, fridge and oven if they break down.

Well I had best get on so BFN x

Just a quick one from me as we're off to a bbq & I'm still in my jarmies :o

Massive hugs to Lou & NPM x

Sparkly shoes, on one of the other theads I read that someone had cut the feet off of a pair of those all in ones that had got too small & sewn on a pair of slipper socks. HTH

Re DD2 thanks for your concern, her OH has taken off, leaving behind his keys & his wedding ring. DD seems very calm & is taking the time to evaluate her options. She loves him to bits but seems to have realised that man/woman cannot live on love alone (especially with 3 kids) & that his actions are not those of a loving partner :( I wish they didn't live so far away as we can't be of any practical help from here :(. She is still going ahead with the christening next weekend & I think his presence or not will be a deciding factor for her.

Right I really must get a move on or I will be joining the ranks of those having a weekly row :D

    Hugs, spoons & hi5's all rround x

    Afternoon everyone

NPM ((hugs)) hope you get things sorted. I'm sure your dh will be back once he has calmed down and you will be able to talk things through.

Lou ((hugs)) hope your dh is not in too much pain. I really hope things start to improve for you both. Take care of yourself too.

Going out for tea tonight as ds2 still at dads. Need to do shopping tomorrow for rest of uniform and change trousers I bought for him.

    Hello x

DD just woke me up stropping around:mad:
Just made a lovely dinner and going to do the apples and crumble once Kids Dad has watched the Grand Prix.

NPM - Ok it sounds like Noah pushed your husband to his very limits and we all react differently when that happens. It sounds very out of character for hubby as I have always been impressed by his commitment to you both. When hubby has calmed down then perhaps you can apologise and work out a strategy to cope with Noah's behaviour. Is it just at home that noah pushes the boundaries like this or is it the same when he is with his father or at school? I know that Noah has autism but it is unacceptable for him to hurt either of you and it sounds like something snapped for your husband. Im sorry if that sounds harsh or if im speaking out of turn but neither of you are there for Noah to hit and lash out at - regardless of the autism. I send you lots of support x
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.
  • Thanks everyone:A
all sorted now, he came back about 1pm and we all apologised etc.
i know we have to stick together as a couple but when things like that happen I automatically jump to noah`s aid:o
Molly....it is an ongoing situation with his behaviour. He is the same most places. I have a rule that he does not hit or hurt himself or other people even when he is angry but it is hard to get that through to him when he is in meltdown. He is on waiting list for regular appts with behav psych but it takes ages....my parents have offered today to pay for it privately if I can sort it as they are very worried about his behaviour. I wish I knew the answer...I know the autism isnt an excuse to hit people but it makes the world very confusing for him, not to mention his other disabilities.
I dont want him smacked as it makes no sense in my head to say "no you dont hit people" and then smack him:cool:....DH just snapped, didnt hit him hard just a light smack on bum but as RedRuby said I flew at him to protect my chick;)
We do def need some help soon with him tho:o
Thank you everyone for your support during a blooming awful morning

Oh dear, i'm still in my pj's!!
I really want to try and be productive but I never know where to start. We did hang the washing out and collect some elderberries this morning but that's all!

I wish I had a new kitchen, I like to think I'd be inclined to spend time in there then.
