Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Sunday 28th August. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Morning all
Hubby is still asleep, but I woke up & once I'm awake I have to get up.
I have no plans for today as it looks like I might be looking after DGD2, this will keep me busy as she is 8 months old & gorgeous.
I have some clean washing to put away & a small amount of ironing & I will cook a chicken for lunch.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester

Morning hester and all who follow
Well gotta say my housewarming was a bit quiet :rotfl: but still had a good time. I'm really really pee'd off with my flakey friend though. She had offered to drive so was meant to be collecting 4 of of other friends on her way her, but then she decided that apparently 90 mins wasn't long enough for her to get changed and drive here (it's a 20min drive!) so she cancelled on me  but of course that meant she had let down the others too so they couldn't come cos by the time she told them it was too late to get bus/another lift. I'm so annoyed with her, if I had done that to her she wouldn't speak to me for weeks. Anyway....so there were only 8 of us last night but we had a good night, watched X Factor, had few drinks and gossip.
Wish the weather would make it's mind up, out of one window it is raining (sea side) and out the other it's gloriously sunny (dock side) :rotfl:.
Plans for the day.......nothing. Well I have stuff I need to do like look for hostels to stay in on my trip (less than 2months to go!) but other than that I am gonna watch the F1 and read my book.
OS wise - WM on with tea towels from work and some other bits. Flat is immaculate so no need to tidy, may go to the tip later with the recycling.
Have a fab day all

Mornin Hester, and all to follow.
I am up and at 'em this morning, still not sleeping well without OH, but it is becoming easier- it has been a long week, though. Got someone coming to pick.up a few things I have sold on gumtree this morning, then I am off to mil's for the day. She is much better now, and SisIL arriving seems to have done her a world of good.:)
Oswise, I have bread proving, and am having a debate with myself over whether to hang the washng out or in, looks like in will win!
Bit of bad news from Lou, her OH had a car accident during the week and is in hospital, he is Ok, but has a broken leg and a broken rib and collapsed lung and is obviously in a lot of pain. Poor Lou isn't doing too well, and is staying with a friend for support for a few days.
I hope you are all well and taking care of yourselves.

It's grey and freezing! Just got home from my night, will have to dig out my tights for tonight as I was so cold. Off to the gym in a mo and will then collect DS from his Dad's. Then I'll get some kip.
NPM sorry you're feeling so grotty hope you get well soon.
Hope my brother will be ok in New Jersey, looks like Irene is heading his way.
OS wise it's chicken breast for DS for tea, shall wrap it in bacon. That's for DS anyway, I shall probably have a bowl of cereal!
Have a good day all and big hugs to those who need one
Just read about poor Lou, that poor girl really needs some good things to happen soon. Big hugs to you Lou and I hope your OH is ok.

Good morning everyone and extra thoughts to those in difficult times just now.
Dark, windy, wet morning up here. It's more like end of Sept weather than August!
A quiet day planned as I was on a roll with the housework yesterday and really blitzed the place top to bottom. Just a small pile of ironing to do this morning then I plan to visit my mum & dad with the kids. I think I might even make a quick batch of scones to take over to them.
Otherwise, roast chicken for dinner later and hopefully some quiet time to read the Sunday papers.
Have a good day everyone, whatever you are doing x0 -
Morning all.
(((hugs))) to Lou. Hope you feel better soon NPM.
Bounced out of bed this morning, and off to church. It's next door to my parents house so I have no excuse. I used to sing as a chorister there and DH and I got married there so it has wonderful memories and will cheer me up. Then walk to Greenwich for lunch. Hound will love the exercise. Then some paid work this afternoon.
Morning all. Have a great day.GC Mar 13 £47.36/£1500 -
Morning All,
Already been told off by OH for 'making too much noise' he ordered me to go and pick up the car HE left at the yard. I told him no, in probably not the politest way....
More cleaning to be done today, got load no 4 of the weekend in the machine, got about 4 more to go!
Plan to continue hibernating today, will walk the dog at some point but he's still cuddled up next to OH.
The rabbit has had a little run around this morning and need to clean her out later.
NPM - hope you feel better soon!Annual Grocery Budget £364.00/£1500
