  • Good Morning All

Sorry I haven't posted for a while, but I have to say I haven't really been tackling any frogs as I have become obsessed with making things out of felt - Yay I HAVE A NEW HOBBY!! - started with little hearts and now I am doing little elephants and today I plan to do little owls and cupcakes. Just got to find people to give them to!!

Anyway I have read all your posts and glad to find you all well and busy.

monnogran well what can I say - you are an inspiration and sound a very kind person. Don't forget to have a little something for yourself, you certainly deserve it.

I have a rather large frog to do today. I have to sort out the guinea pigs. Currently they are in two cat carriers - boys in one, girls in the other. They are having a run around the kitchen in their play pen at alternate times, but there is wood shavings everywhere. Their hutches are absolutely soaked through. Normally they would have come into the conservatory during the winter but we just don't have the room in there this year. So I am going to have to put them in the garage, which I am not happy about as it is right at the bottom of the garden (not that it is a long garden) but I like an easy life!! Plus it does get very cold.

My project for next year is to erect a small shed to put them in. The guy I work for, despite being in a wheel chair, is a bit of a whiz at small building projects so I am going to glean the information that I need to know and we (me and hubby) are going to lay a proper base and do the job properly. Just got to save the money to get the materials but it will give me a something to think about.

I don't know whether I mentioned it but I am currently coming off my anti depressants. I was on 50mg but decided that the time was right to wean myself off them - glad I did as Dr said that the high dosage I was on could lead to irregular heart beats/heart problems (new info apparently). Anyway I have gone from 50mg to 35mg over the last few months and this week I go down to 30mg. This has been a massive FROG to me (being on anti depressants of 10+ years) so I wanted to share with you that I am really tackling this slippery one.

rowsew - how are you getting on? Are you still on them old crutches if so not too much limoncello - we don't want any more broken bonesw.

icontinuetodream - Enjoy your solstice meal and being together with others. I have to say well done for facing going into the city. I just won't go!! :rotfl:

dannie - hope your light in now shining brightly with the new bulb correctly in place.

I have my DD off school now so not sure how this week will go. House needs a good clean up so that will be my frog for this week.

    Good Luck with yours!! x

    Good morning,

Another month/year nearly over with. I am still trying to complete more "frogs" and so far there is one I am 99% certain is unachievable. It is  type.
Recently, however, tasks seem "bitty" such as:-

"Froglet" - reading some health information sent to me and thanking the informer.

"Tadpole" - A door that keeps coming open "wasting" electric has been checked with a solution.

    "Tadpole" - filing hence decluttering.

"Froglet" - finally fixed the bike lamp. "Reward" was unexpected like being "high" I imagine. It was my last attempt.

Setting these aside, reviewing what the year has been like; end of year type jobs. Weather remains uninviting so will mainly continue with the indoor "frogs".

Football Widow - Thanks for your message. It sounds like you have a lot of "frogs" to deal with. Good luck/health with these. Your felt hobby reminded me of card making using felt to illustrate the occasion/message.

    Good morning folks,

I am unsure whether many "frogs" have been tackled recently; more that I have been doing difficult annual type activities concerning the Xmas/New Year period. The one incompleted 2011 "frog" that has escaped this year is will-making. Nevertheless, occasionally I look around and am aware of the amount that has been done. Thanks.

Happy New Year to all the froggers out there, and long may we continue to squish the little beggars. Just wanted to pop in and say hi to everyone.

FW, thanks for asking about my foot, I am now off my crutches, but the bad news from the Physio genius is that I'm probably looking at least another three months min. before foot is on the road to being properly mended. Which is a bit of a bummer as I was hoping to be able to walk my children to school this term (it's been 3 mths already!), however, I am allowed to walk to the bottom of my road and back, and I have exercises to do to make my foot start working again so that's my big frog for the beginning of the year.

I finished my brother's quilt just after Christmas, so that was another big job completed after much procrastination, and managed to fix the ribbing on the knitting I had done for the OH. I'm sure more taddies will pop up, so I may go and compile a list of them. One thing to do this year is be more positive. I had ante natal depression for a long time, and only started feeling really better at the beginning of last year, it takes a while to get your head sorted out. But being on MSE really does help, there are so many helpful people here, or someone who knows something that you need to know too, or where to go for more info. So thanks to everyone, hope to hear from you all soon.

  • Happy New Year!

Well both myself and hubby were ill over the Christmas but we still had a nice time with DD.

Nice to catch up with you rowsew sorry to hear that you are still struggling with your foot, what a nightmare! I am totally understanding of remaining positive, a little difficult when you are hobbling about, but I'll join you in 2012!

Well I have set up some New Year Resolutions (noted somewhere on MSE!). But due to one thing and another I have decided to start them properly on Monday. DD was off school yesterday (only went back Wednesday) and I haven't got myself properly organised. Lots of money saving resolutions and frog squashing for me this year. Will update FROG list over the weekend once I have decided on priorities!!

Hope everyone is keeping warm in this cold windy weather, roll on the spring ... :rotfl:

  • I work full time and also do some voluntary work and have an evening class once a week, which means that it can be 10 when I get home.

I want to set myself housework tasks that can be done relatively quickly, but do actually show that I have achieved something and I can then reward myself!

Eg, this evening, I intend to get dinner cooking and while that is happening, I will go through all of the bookshelves in the hall, so hopefully by the time that will be done, it will be time to eat and I can enjoy the evening.

However, bearing in mind that it can be late when I get home, what little rewards can I give myself so that I can focus on task in hand and still achieve a little task every evening, even if it only cleaning one shelf of a kitchen cupboard?

I like to stick the kettle on, clean all the dishes, make a cuppa, then put the dishes away. By that time my tea is perfect drinking temperature for me :j
Can't think of anything smart to put here...
  • :DHi folks  I have been off the boards for ages for a variety of reasons and have come back today and realised that this thread has come to a halt....nooooo!! I really need this thread....it really helped me focus on stuff and I have an inordinate amount of stuff to do!!! :o

I am posting to hopefully resurrect it and get some moral support with the most enormous frog list that I have had for months.... :D

    so, my list:

    Back Garden:

Clear the debris from the dogs (polite way of saying poo hunt!! ;))
Chop up the doors and other wood that the builders have put on the patio
    Cut the grass
    Sweep the leaves
Cut out the lawn for flower beds
Move the dead dishwasher into the front garden
    Clean out the greenhouse
    Clean the greenhouse
Get rid of the old chicken wire from the boundary of the back garden and replace it with new stuff
Clean the panels for the solar lights

    Front Garden

Chop up the pallets for the wood
Get a skip to get rid of the brick rubble from builders, the dead bed, mattress, old windows, dead bikes and all the rest of the rubbish which currently resides there...:o
Level the ground once the rubbish has gone and lay lawn

    House

No point in even going there....too much debris lying around while building work going on, so will start on this once it is complete!!!:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Right, I need a lie down now....thinking about all this is killing me!!!

Hi continue to dream, can I join you?

Have been decluttering like mad the last few weeks and have just run out of steam, the house now resembles my local tip!!!

    Here is my list:
    1. Dumping Ground (soon to be called Our Dining Room!)
Empty large desk, organise and aim to replace with compact corner desk
Clear of toys and fishing gear!
    Lick of paint
    Clean windows
    Clean carpet
Put dining table and chairs into room
Arrange a dinner party as a treat!!!

I am going to do this one room at a time, so I am setting myself two weeks to sort the Dump!
  • Hi donnajt  welcome aboard!! I would love you to join....I really need the support and motivation!!!

Two weeks seems like a great target - unfortunately, most of mine is outdoor stuff and as I work full-time, its impossible to get it all done within that timeframe as it is dark when I go to work and return, but I am intending to complete as much of the back garden stuff as possible over the next two weekends (I have bought wellies so that I don't have any excuses if the weather is rubbish!! ;)) so we will have a two week challenge and see how far we get!! Roll on the frog squishing!!!:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
