Yesterday evening, I completed a "frog" which completed the six I aimed to do last week. I am glad that it is done due to the lengthy indecision and worry it caused. It was to spend money on more expensive health products in the hope it will improve things.
Today, a "tadpole" whereby the living room is being tackled; cleaning, organising and identifying "frogs". Good luck with yours.0 -
Good Morning All.
Dannie hope you are feeling ok today. Well done for getting your list completed. And let us hope that it is money well spent for health products - let us know how you get on.
squeaky - enjoy your break with your visitor. I have diarised early october - start nagging Squeaky - so beware!!;)
jammy dodger :T awesome!
mustmakealist great start you! Hope you enjoyed Downton Abbey. I'm still limping along with Torchwood!
So today ... going to start DD bedroom - if I can get in there! Planning to do one wall today and see how we get on, as it is going to take a bit of time to empty out the stuff (it's not a large room and she has rather a lot of 'stuff'!)
Also got a couple of tadpoles - descale the kettle and ring the council about non collection of brown bin. This is of course along with all the other chores that have to be done.
Dog has been walked and now sleeping on the sofa - so that is good, just got to make sure that I don't go to join him!!
Have a good day folks xFootball Widow :footie:
Why are frogs so happy? They eat whatever bugs them!0 -
Hi everyone!
I hope that everyone is doing good today. Monday, bleurgh.
iamsalt, I'm so sorry to hear about your cat. It sounds like she's landed on her paws finding you and I hope that the time you have left with her is peaceful.
Mumof2, I'm sending you a million positive vibes :happyhear I hope that you are feeling better. Good for you for finding things to be positive about, dogs not rolling in fox poo is absolutely a reason to cheer in my book, too! I tend to hibernate and chill about house stuff when I feel down, I try not to feel guilty about it. As long as you keep in mind that the spark will come back, then hopefully you can just keep breathing and taking it easy on yourself until it does. (It will, I promise. xx)
Football Widow - Ew, kids bedrooms are a pain aren't theyI tackled both my daughters and survived, but they started immediately putting things in bags and boxes and leaving stuff strewn about again. Which is fine, as they're little and I guess it's their job. But  The clothes things is difficult I think, too. You have reminded me I need to sort out the kids winter gear. Every year I think we'll just layer up summer dresses and go Boho, but I never do that. They live in jeans and everything's stuffed in cupboards and drawers. Not this year! That's a froglet to tackle for my list. Great to hear your friend is feeling much better, and you too! :T
Monnogran, I've taken a step back from the kid's issues at school and I'm trying to draw a line under it and think of a new approach. I'm not sure what is it yet, but I need to change the way I deal with things even if I can't help how upset I feel. Bringing up kids is just the hardest thing, isn't it?? But anyway, Titch is doing ok at the mo. Thanks lots everyone for your supportive words. x
I am actually in the middle of tackling a frog, which is my pantry. It has turned into a huge one as a tin of butterbeans appears to have spontaneously combusted without my knowledge, and so all my tins are stuck to the shelves! :rotfl:I am laughing now because I've sat down away from it for a mo, but it stinks horrible in there.
My list for this week is as follows:
Sort out pantry and food cupboards - frog!
Clean room and sort out dvds - froglet
Wash cushion covers - tadpole
Clean bathroom and loo and sort of bottles of things in there - froglet
My reward is coming after I've done the lot - I'm buying myself a bunch of flowers to put in my room once everythnig is tidy and I feel comfortable in there again.
All of this is working towards getting the agents in to take the photos to get the house on the market, so it's all essential stuff.
We have a new member of the family by the way! A great big white cockerel that was destined for the pot. He's in the lottie and so I have to make sure I keep up with the girlie's eggs as we don't want any chicks until Spring. No name as yet - he was called Peanut, I guess they were going to make him into Thai chicken!
Anyway. Best get back to scraping up the butterbean explosion. And figuring out what to do with 5 huge packs of red lentils, enough cous cous to feed Africa and all those olives.

Hi all,
It was quite a productive day yesterday tidying the living room. It meant discovering and doing little "tadpole" jobs, finding and preparing others to be done and looking at/streamlining some unfinished hobbies. I have tried to make things more accessible as this deters me from sorting them out. The "reward" is how therapeutic it feels now the house is feeling a bit clearer.
Football Widow - Thanks for your reply and encouragement. Yesterday was a mixed day health wise but "recovered" from the money I had to spend. Improved health or good health would be fantastic. I'll try and let you know how things are but the whole health situation is too demoralising to mention. However, your thoughts are understood and much appreciated. (Hope everybody else is also feeling okay).
As with Lucyeff, my kitchen is a "frog" e.g. very time-consuming. However, I am using it all up slowly so hope this provides time for other things and unfinished "frogs!". Anyway, must continue with todays "frogs"....0 -
Thanks for the moral support and positive vibes Lucyeff - I'm feeling better than I was thanks.
Everyone seems to be doing really well with their frog list so a big round of :T to us all!
Now don't faint but I've got 2 things on ebay (1 with 11 watchers) and 5 things on Netmums. Want to put them on ebay as I don't think Netmums will shift them (walking shoes DD has grown out of) and now the photos are taken it's no hassle. I've printed the list of prices for postage too so made it as easy for myself as I can.
Today's tadpole/froglet/frog jobs:
* Put the light Winnie the Pooh cover on ebay (tadpole)
* Put the filing I've done for DH in alphabetical order and take out those he needs to look at (froglet)
Reward:
* Sit down and watch a DVD with DS this pm without feeling guilty - knit at the same time!

dannie - I know exactly what you mean about a clearer house being a reward in itself. It makes me want to wee when I can sit down in a room that I have gutted and where I know where everything is! It does tend to make other jobs crop up. My tidying the pantry has led to me sorting out and vacuuming shoes (!) and although it's taking me forever, I feel a sense of achievement. My counsellor once said that my house is a reflection of my mind - a bit all over the shop and messy and full of stuff. Well, it's a bit emptier:rotfl: now!
Mumof2, go you for listing stuff on ebay! I hope that the transactions go through smoothly for you. I've had bother with ebay and it's put me off a bit, but then we've sold some stuff at auction recently and gotten peanuts - we would have made much more on ebay if I could have been bothered. I guess the more you do, the easier it is. I'm glad you're feeling better xx
I'm still in the middle of stuff. I'm going to deactivate facebook for a bit as it distracts me too much and I check it constantly when I'm on my own. I'll talk to myself instead I think, at least I can do that and clean the kitchen at the same time!
I'm a bit at sixes and sevens as dh usually picks the kids up but not today. I've only just found out and I need to be there for 2.30, so it's set me off kilter. I hate standing around with the crowds, and then there's the mad rush and cars everywhere and trying to stop Titch from chasing her mates and running on the road...it all gets a bit scary. But best get it done. I think I'll take a magazine, get there really early and get away from cobwebby shoes for a bit!0 -

See what I've done this afternoon :j! I've got some ladies weights too which I am going to put on too; I'm on a bit of a roll now!
Haven't seen DVD yet but will wait til DD gets home and we'll all watch Despicable Me and I'll crack on with my scarf for Jamie.
Dannie must be lovely to have a clearer house; I'm way off that due to the sheer amount of clutter around here (most of which is DH's )
Lucyeff I deactivated Facebook but have just got it back again - being strict with myself though and only looking first thing, at lunch, and then again after dinner. It is distracting. You'll be there now cos it's 2:35 but hope everything is going well with the people all over the place and you keeping an eye on Titch. Will be thinking of you.
Football Widow how did it go with DD's bedroom - and did you succumb to snuggling up on the sofa with the dog?!!Flymarkeeteer: £168 and counting0 -
:j:j:j Go you, Mumof2! I love Despicable Me, it's one of my faves. You deserve it after all that hard work!
Managed to get them both back in one piece, both eating yogurt and plums now watching telly while I deep breath to get over the panic of being in two places at once at 3pm (they both finish at the same time and are at opposite ends of the school!).
Am about to deactivate facebook. I am pushing the button right now! It's so interesting though, especially at the moment for one friend who I never get chance to see (mainly because I daren't go out and meet up, not for the want of him trying. I think most folk have given up!). Maybe I should save up some rewards to put towards a pint of cava and a real life catch up instead!

One frog demolished yesterday! :T
I sorted out the compost heap. Honestly there were brambles, bindweed, nettles and errant potatoes growing in it. It took a couple of hours to get it looking like proper compost again. Intended to carry on the good work and clear out the greenhouse today, the tomatoes are just about finished, but a stream of callers this morning put paid to that idea.
Mumof2: Well done you with ebay. You are very brave. I've always fought shy of selling or buying anything there, probably because I've never done it before and I'm a wimp.
Lucyeff: Is it still off? I have enough to do with these forums. I spend far too much time on them.
donnie: I know what you mean about the therapeutic effect of cleaning a room. I find myself walking back into the clean room to give myself a fresh lovely surprise. SAD. What do you mean you want to finish some hobbies. I'd like to START some. I've got all sorts of materials lined up for things I want to do, but life keeps getting in the way. I used to think 'when I retire.' well, I've been retired for 12 years now and things are as hectic as they ever were.
Happy frog squishing everyone.I believe that friends are quiet angels
