    Morning all,

    Valentine Congrats on your scan!

Queenie My thoughts are with your friend and her family.

Not much going on today, waiting for the washing machine engineer (between 2 and 3) and I think I'll do some Ebay listings, ready for the 10p listing day on Thursday.

I opened our big tin of Quality Street last night and it was all gone!!! OH has eaten the whole lot the greedy swine! So, not very pleased with him today. I think if this carries on, I'll have to stop buying snacky foods - he says he's going to eat less of them, but so far it isn't happening - which would be a shame because I like my chocolate!

    Breakfast: Toast
    Lunch: Sandwich
Dinner: Crispy Sausage Balls and Cheesy Mash

    Have a good one!

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Tuesday 9th January 2007. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well

    Hi everyone,

I've never started the thread before - I hope I don't offend anyone!

I just wanted to let you all know that we had my first baby scan yesterday and it was wonderful and I felt silly to be so worried! I've been put back a week so I'm only 12 1/2 weeks pregnant now - but so delighted that everything is going really well.

I can't sleep after getting up to pee at 3am but back to work today so off to try again for another hour or so. I'm just too excited! We told lots of friends last night on the phone so that's got me all excited again and I'm nervous about telling my work today.

O/S has gone to pot recently - I'm really behind on basic jobs like washing up and dishes but I'll get back on track tonight and properly at the weekend.

I'm sorry I didn't manage to read the thread fully yesterday - it was so long by the time I got home, so if I missed important news then I'm sorry and *hugs* if you would like them.

    Love

    Valentine xxx

Congratulations - it is an exciting time and seeing your baby for the first time on a scan is mindblowing:)

loubee - have u been in the Museum of Childhood since refurb? Is it good?
I love it there - always been a fav of mine since childhood!

Yep! It's just around the corner from my house! :)It's really nice-they've done a great job. There are loads of things for kids-stories, making things. And there is a big Miffy exhibition on at the moment, which made me happy as she is a favourite of mine.

Up late, feel manky. Couldn't sleep till 7 coz of wind and rain - it was so loud!!!

I made chilli mince yesterday using leftovers and will have tonight with some tacos got on sale (mince is better made the day before) and the bread and butter pudding went down a treat. We have some leftover for tonight.

Our son will be home about 3pm and make a start on dismantling shelves. It is going to be a busy day, so lots of coffee needed to keep going.

Our son is really testing us tho'. He has just started dating another girlfriend and wants us to let her sleep in his bed. We let his ex sleep in his bed as they had dated two years, this one has been going two weeks!! He is calling us old fashioned etc and how everyone else is cool about it - the usual teenager yawns:(

So tonight will be the lecture of when they have dated for longer time and if they get serious or not.

Now, can anyone tell me why I still have 21 boxes of chocolates and 1 large tin of Quality street left over from christmas?

Because .... your dd didn't drink her milkshake and your ds got in a strop about the pet bottle and your dh isn't earning as much as you want/need him too?

Or is it because ..... you keep tidying them up to keep your surfaces clutter free?

You're saving them to recycle as Easter treats?

    You're on a diet?

    You forgot about them?

You haven't had a monthly craving yet?

    You bought too many?

    Morning all,

I'm treating myself to half an hour on here as a reward for filing my tax return on line and for starting the online bit for my FIL and MIL - I've done all the figures - just need the activation codes to enter them. My FIL died last year and the tax returns were his job, so I inherited it. Unfortunately 31 Jan is galloping up - REMINDER TO ANYONE ELSE

Queenie - thoughts and prayers are with you and your friend and her family.
    Stormy - thinking of you

If anyone has the book "Extending the Table" - like More with Less - I can recommend the Creole Chicken - we had it last night - yummy. Haven't decided on tonight - probably pasta so the boys can have it before Beavers and dh and I can have it after. The boys took jacket potatoes and cheese in their lunch flasks today - I set the oven timer last night - we have an EC potato mountain in the garage, so I have warned them it could be spuds 3x a week for lunch.

Managed to boogie fling a fair bit yesterday and have a bag for the charity shop ready includijng some Christmas decorations. I need to sort out some clothes we have been given for both boys - on the other hand I've just started a new book that dh found abandoned in a hotel bedroom in the States.

    Have a good day everyone:beer:

I'd better take my kids they like Miffy! - how long is it on for? only I cant take them this weekend as we are going to the Boat Show - which reminds me to book tickets now!
