    Good morning everyone,
I hope you all don't mind me joining in! Today is the first day back at school for my youngest daughter, 11, since her Dad, my hubby John suddenly passed away on 22nd December. She was fine going off, it was me that was blubbering like an idiot.
I think I will miss her today as we have been inseperable since the tragedy. I'm not back in work until next monday, so I will be here for her if the school calls. I'm going to ring them later on to make sure she is ok. I want to ring them already but it's only 20 mins since the school day started!!!
I have to go to John's doctors today to take back the blood pressure and diabetic machines we had off them on loan. That will be horrible to say the least.
I might nip into Asda too for a few bits, that will be difficult because I worked for them for 8 years as a CS manager and a few of them came to the funeral, but I feel I need to go in and thank them for their support.
On the bright side (although looking out of the window, it's the dull side), I have prepared meals for the next 2 days...
Chicken, bacon and pasta bake and a chicken korma in the slow cooker.
Have a good day everyone and well done on the scan, a new life begins, that is lovely,
    Stormy

OF COURSE NOT! You must stay and share with us whatever gives you comfort.

We have a little girl at ds's school who is in a similar awful sitiuation to your family and the way the school, the head, the teachers, children and parents have rallied round her has been amazing. I'm sure it will be the same for your dd and if it makes you feel better to call the school now then do it :).

Thinking of you and your family :)

QUEENIE............lots of love, hugs and prayers for you, your friend and her family.we lost my nan to the awful disease a few years back now my uncle is fighting it as well as a friends 2 year old....its just the most heartbreaking thing to watch.will be thinking of you all.
I'm so, so sorry to read about your Uncle and especially your friends 2yo!!!

Yes, it is an awful disease indeed! I nursed my own mother to the end and not so very long ago watched how it ripped dh's family apart to see his younger brother and his father both be taken by the disease within weeks of one another.

Thank you to everyone for your good wishes and prayers, I shall pass them on and know that comfort will be found in them.

    Morning all

Valentine - Glad the scan went well - I don't think I truely belived I was pregnant with either DD until I'd had the scan (the morning sickness should have given it away really but I thought knowing my luck it would just be an ongoing tummy bug)

Stormybay - Good luck with your difficult day.

PP - If you want to strengthen your arm with ironing then I can help you out - I'll gladly sacrifice my huge pile and let you do it - honest - I'm nice like that ;)

Still feeling lousy, overslept again this morning which wasn't good - wanted to get up early and make a fuss of DD1 who sits her 11+ today and tomorrow  Luckily she'd overslept too so there was no time for nerves. DH is still off but feeling much better - he'll be back to work tomorrow whilst I still languish in bed - the achy feelings gone, just very lethargic and full blown head cold now - nice.

Todays list consists of, sorting clean washing into piles and then dumping it back in the basket until I can be bothered to put it away - it's a daily thing now - we've stopped using draws - just help yourself from the pile.:D

Lunch for DH and I will be chicken soup, dinner tonight will be jackets pots and left over HM chicken curry from last night.

Hope you all have a fantastic day.

    Good morning

Feeling a bit grumpy this morning. Got the kids up dressed and breakfast etc, then put the kettle on to make a cup of tea, it was starting to boil and then switched off. Need my morning cuppa. Have just got back in from school run so have put a pot of water on cooker to boil.

I didn't relaise that I had run out of stardrops last night and couldn't wash the dishes, it was horrible getting up this morning to a sink full of dirty, smelly dishes. Anyway, when I was passing the local shop I went into buy washing up liquid an thought I got a good deal 2 bottles for £1.50. Then realised that I was going to Sainsbury for a kettle and would have got stardrops there.

    valentine-glad you scan went fine.

AMIE - good luck with WW.

Hope you all have a nice day despite the weather.
  • Morning all

Just a quick post as I'm at work and trying to sneak this on while my boss is out the office!:p

Not doing to well with saving the pennies the last few days :( have ended up buying new clothes for my new job... they were in the sales but not part of my budget, so have felt a bit guilty about buying them.

Had meal plans and everything all planned for this week and had done a veg shop on the market, but unfortunatly I didn't get much sleep last night with all the crashing and banging in the wind and I was late getting up this morning :( so no packed lunch this morning... should really have been a bit more organised last night but I was up sorting through paper work and things for the house move. Have managed to bring a few bits with me so hopefully won't spend too much at lunch time. Determined to be more organised to night :rotfl:

Going to make up some Leek and Potato soup with the potatoes that seem to be breading in my cupboard, create some beany burgers to use up the tons of beans I seem to have aquired and work out how to use my new slow cooker so i can make up some stew tomorrow :T

Right best get back to work... any top tips for relocating and selling house would be much appreciated :j could really do with getting a good nights sleep some time soon!!

Hugs to all those who need them (((hugs))) and congrats valentine :T

    take care all

    tink x

    hello

well pc is still playing up, kitty paw is slowly getting better - not sure what else I can do with my pc so may start looking at new ones or preparing myself to build one :)

Valentine - congratulations on the scan, glad it all went well. x

Congratulations on the Baden-Powell award, I'm afraid I didn't do my Queens Guide, I defected to the Ventures but didn't do the Queens Scout either :( although I have friends who have done it. Good luck again!

Hypno06 - sounds like me when I was younger, everyone else used to turn up with pre-weighed amounts, I used to turn up with a tin of this and a bag of that after the dash to the local corner shop to buy what they had :) I remember having to make 100s of sausage rolls once cause my teacher wanted me to use all the pastry and sausage meat I'd brought in with me....my mother was furious as she didn't want that many sausage rolls and it also meant I missed my bus home :)

Queenie sorry to hear things aren't good - will read back through yesterday big hugs though x x x

Stormy - my heart goes out to you.

Hello to everyone else and happy Tuesday! I like this thread it reminds me what day of the week it is!!!

    Morning everybody :hello:

((((hugs)))) to Queenie and friends and Stormybay. Stormy - please stay and join in, we're lovely here you know :)

Valentine x congratulations on successful scan :j and congratulations also to Miss Penguin on the Queen's Guide award. I'm ashamed to say I dropped out of the Guides :o

    And :rotfl: at Crazychick's & dlb's neighbour's fence. Talk about karma :D

Lots of w**k to do today so can't waste too much time on here - bummer :D

Was quite proud of myself yesterday as I didn't spend any money :j I nearly always spend something every day. Today on the other hand, I have already spent £20 on a ticket to a concert next month :o I think I will do a weekly shop today (need loo roll so want to go to Tesco and see if they still have the excellent special offer on Nouvelle) and see if I can have another "no spend day" tomorrow. I am going out on Thursday and I know I will be spending at least £6 so have written that off as a possible no spend day!

Last week I came in £15 under budget on my groceries and day-to-day spending  :D It would be lovely if that "budget pot" were still in credit at the end of the month.

Hugs to anybody who's not feeling well :grouphug:

    Love Rzl
