keep on plodding mate. You are still in a better place than you would have been before you started on this journey even if you are only trreading water at the moment.
By the way do you use turbolister for your ebay listing?
chevI want a job that is less than an hour driving away from my house! Are you listening universe?

Mr B, my personal opinion on a couple of the points you've raised:
Re the job, looking at this from the perspective of someone who sees applications etc, loyalty counts for a lot, and someone who maybe doesn't stay with a company for very long/moves for the money isn't seen in a very good light. also, people in all walks of life network and do bandy around names - have you heard of Mr B? What's he like. So my advice, feel free to ignore, is to stay where you are for a while to keep building that great reputation. Either the money will come from that job or other opportunities will appear at the right time.
Re Consolidation loan. For me this was the right thing to do as all I was paying was the interest each month, BUT once the credit card was cleared, the account was closed and I've never had/used a credit card since and that was four years ago. Last payment on loan is in two months time.
Onwards and upwards. I'm with you on the eBay pain.Spend less now, work less later.0 -
Upset the apple cart Mr B.........what is there to lose? But only you can make that decision
Turbolister -an abomination and you dont qualify for FLWs
If you go for the loan CUT UP THE CARDS and start building an emergency fund in a cash ISA or something;)Be the change you want to see -with apologies to Gandhi

As always, your inputs are much appreciated.
Today's a humdinger.
1) Turns out the loan that was pre-approved was also post-declined so a brick wall has been hit there.
2) Whilst hits to my website are flourishing, the Kindle sales currently resemble a Polo Mint.
3) Our washing machine of 10 years finally gave up the ghost. A new one has been ordered and will be here tomorrow.
But it's not all bad news. Going through Quidco we got the princely sum of £3.75 for our purchase.
Party on.
And to add further joy to the proceedings, Mrs B is a listing mood. This, by default, means I have to be as well.2011: 301k in debt and morbidly obese (DFW)

MrB. loyalty to an employer should be avoided at all costs. They are all just stepping stones to a better-paid job somewhere else.
I'm on holiday for 2 weeks & so far have applied for 3 jobs with better salaries than I get at the moment.
I gave 16 years to one employer & it was the biggest mistake in my life. I declined 2 job offers during my time at Trane UK. Thinking back, if I had taken one of them, I would have been £4k a year better-off. However, I was so convinced they were about to close the plant I worked-at, and so focused on getting my hands on my redundancy pay that I failed to see the bigger picture.Never Knowingly Understood.

Another eventful week in my little world, another few steps towards safety. Decided to be totally transparent with the job situation and told my current big boss on Monday of the potential opportunities that had presented themselves. Was told to go have a look around at them and then come back and discuss whether I wanted to go. So I went and looked and it felt right, and so, with a heavy heart (cos I really love it where I am) I went and said that I was going to apply to the new place. And was then promptly offered the same money as I would have got for the leadership post to stay, with a job role from September that is totally up my street. Am rather happy as it means I get to stay at my current place, but with seriously more money and a job I can really get my teeth into.
Whilst it doesn't completely put me back up at the salary level I was on until last December it sure as hell closes the gap considerably, but more importantly than that it has proved to me that I am still capable of senior level positions. The last couple of years at my old place I felt vulnerable, frazzled and that I was too old to have a future. Now I feel valued and capable of a lot more. I'm getting my life back.2011: 301k in debt and morbidly obese (DFW)
