I've always had a quiet admiration for the rowing coaches preparing their teams for the Boat Race - being able to cycle along a riverbank footpath, hold a megaphone and shout instructions (presumably "row faster") simultaneously is a fit of multi-tasking way beyond me. During my 5k run this morning (woo-hoo) I encountered someone of a similar ilk - whilst on the long tree-lined posh road with the big hill and very nice cars a small Lords Of The Rings-like taxi driver (not sure if they have cabs in Tolkein but if they do, this guy would have been in it) who I initially assumed was looking for a house number shadowed me along most of the road gesticulating and shouting at me - I kept pointing to my headphones but they obviously liked the sound of their voice even though nobody was listening. Having navigated his way through the road he only sped off when I ran into a glut of spiderwebs (at my height it can be quite a few hours before the webs of the night strung between lamp posts get broken) and with my arms flailing around and wearing a halo of dewy threads I looked like Bez starring in a Florence and the Machine video.

Weight almost down to the lowest point - CVs and websites getting polished. And debt down a big chunk this month. Things are looking up.

All the Bloaters have been feeling pretty rough this week and yours truly has been at a physical and emotional low but am now ready once again to battle the debts, fats and trolls that come my way.

By Saturday morning I need to -
    - Send off the escalation letter for the PPI refund
    - Get Mrs B trawling through her paperwork to find old loan numbers / accounts
    - Enter the competition that nat21luv found for me
    - Get the CV fully up and working and submitted to the big online job places
    - Move more sellable stuff into the shed of dreams

In positive news, the financial advisor we were talking to has kinda crushed our clever plans to get out of the hole, forcing us to look at even more options. Have managed to kill off two credit cards and a store card (the ones with the highest interest rates) and now have the world's biggest spreadsheet with nearly every financial detail of our life on it, and a whole load of alternative scenarios on it. And before of any you SOA addicts ask, the answer's no.

Have come to the conclusion that life is truly bonkers. Thought I'd anticipated every scenario that could possibly come about over this whole losing the job lark but was thrown a curveball today that even Poirot would have had trouble deducing. Without getting into details, cos there is still plenty for me to ponder, having been 'encouraged' to leave the party due to my maverick behaviour, I now get an invite to go straight into the VIP suite. It's all very baffling. Hence I'm going to have some wine.

Maybe someone has realised just how much you do and are panicking, but don't want to lose face by backing down. Much easier to boot you upstairs, especially if it means that you don't report to the person that has messed up any more.....

Good luck with the pondering and the wine. And congrats on the weight still coming down too.
I want a job that is less than an hour driving away from my house! Are you listening universe?
