Not to worry, another FLD will be along in a week or two.

  • Positives: Alcohol-free day yesterday (and boy did it drag) and resultant decent sleep (from 8pm onwards) has eliminated all the backlog of exhaustion this week from little pukey Bloaters keeping Daddy up in the night. It's currently 4.30am and I have no excuse whatsoever for not doing a run. Whether I actually get out there today onto the streets is a different matter - but for the first time in a long time I cannot console myself with the fact I have a decent excuse not to.

Well, I'm up as well, but due to money worry (can't seem to shake it off).
Can't do the running thing though, bad knees (and too heavy still!)

Well done if you did manage it.:T
If you didn't, look at it as an indication that you are suitably refreshed to wake at this hour due to 'eliminating the backlog of exhaustion'.

That in itself must feel like a triumph:)
Everything is ok in the end. If it's not ok, then it's not the end:)

It would be great if you made it Mr B but as hp says, eliminating the backlog of exhaustion is in itself a triumph. Kids are not an easy option. I hope they're back to full health now, but not to the point of waking before Daddy gets up. ;)

Blushing Rose, I'm sorry to hear you couldn't sleep with worrying. I haven't come across your diary yet so I can't do much on the words of wisdom front but I hope you have a better night tonight and things work out for you. Remember Martin says debt problems are conquerable.... and there are people here to give you some moral support and advice.

  • The Friday run didn't happen, and as for Saturday morning - at precisely 3.30am little Princess Bloater decided that she couldn't splutter alone and so her and I cuddled up on the sofa downstairs watching Tiny Pop. I guess being a fat dad is better than being a cr*p dad.
But, in another potential ray of light - am feeling well virtuous after today's gluten and meat free dinner courtesy of the newly diagnosed Coeliac Mrs B, so virtuous in fact that I am pondering leaving the last bottle of holiday wine unopened and getting a ridiculously early night in so that I can be running daisyfresh in the morning. I just need to break back into the habit and I'll be fine. I know it's like Groundhog Day on this thread at the moment but I am determined to resurrect it and myself from the doldrums. Trouble is, having the wine tonight would not stop me getting up and running. But if either littlie is poorly in the morn (and they are both a-coughing at the moment) then that will. No wine+ No Run = miserable evening and miserable morning. Wine + No Run = good evening and miserable morning. Wine + Run = good evening and good morning. Hmm. Off to get the corkscrew.

    I won't ask about Run + Wine tomorrow :D.

Being a fat dad is certainly better than being a cr*p dad, and virtuous dinners in support of Mrs B are good too. Reckon you deserve that wine.

By the way, DH has been playing shed Tetris here... we suspect there may be a back wall, but I'm not making any promises.

Easiest Yorkshire puddings in the world : 90 g cornflour 4 eggs milk as normal whisk (no need to rest it) cook as normal but on a high shelf as they rise quite a lot ..... Taste normal - no one will notice the difference !
