Good thing it's free listings this weekend MrB if you need to empty the loft!
As for the running, I'm looking forward to getting back to it. I find it great for clearing my mind (can anyone run and think about anything other than breathing and putting one foot in front of the other?) and dealing with mental/creative blockages. I never run for long, as I never know how many times during the day I will need to run! (I write for a living... There are a lot of mental blocks...)0 -
Hello MrBloater, and all his followers!
I have spent my free time over the last 3 days reading this huge, fantastic diary! You are great MrB! Have loved every word and it really is a page turner
It's also very inspiring, so i plan to start my own diary on here tonight to try and tackle my own familys money issues, and if i get even a tiny bit of the great advice you've had from the lovely people on this thread (I'm pretty scared of some other parts of this forum having been shouted at before) i'll be happy.
Can wait for more from you

Hi, I haven't had time to keep up with your diary lately (sorry!) but just wanted to pop by to say that it was you that first inspired me to give running a go. I've been at it for a few months now and am running 3 miles 3 times a week. It feels incredible. I hope your finding your way on your journey and steadily moving towards your goals. All the best.0

Am reinventing myself as a country gentleman - not only did I spend most of the day in the garden doing the first of many clean-ups and digging out a 2m x 3m veg plot, but then we went on a family trek to a garden centre and I got a waterproof jacket (dirt cheap). I have never owned a waterproof jacket in my life, but as I'm going to be hitting 40 this year I thought it was time to start fitting in. Once I've shed a few more pounds I can realistically look at buying all my non-work clothes in discount outlets in out-of-town garden centres. Tried to sneak a flat cap into the basket as well but Mrs B vetoed it cos apparently it would make my head look even pumpkin-like than it already does.2011: 301k in debt and morbidly obese (DFW)

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: Its the waterproofing of the feet thats really important - I bought wellies for the snow last year, and now I use them regularly in the garden, its so claggy cos of all this clay.
Glad to hear you're going for the country gentleman activities tho - you might be able to still plant some garlic, you know, its a bulb and you don't really have to *do* anything to it:D:D

Sorry to hear that things are so tough for your work wise at the moment. Would you get a good redundancy settlement if the worst happened. Would it be enough to jump start some other line or work.
As others have said, tutoring would help fill the income gap. But I am sure that something else will come up.
Good luck with the coming debt busting and weight losing. It is hard to fit exercise in sometimes. I have to be a bit selfish about it and go whether there is something else on or not. But then my exercise is swimming.
chevI want a job that is less than an hour driving away from my house! Are you listening universe?
