I have just subscribed - my debts (and my weight) terrify me but if you can do it so can I. Can I show my mega ignorance and ask what SOA means?0
-
Following on from other people signing up - your optimism and enthusiasm is just great!
Stroppy cow - SOA = Statement of Affairs:

Just to add ........ SOA is NOT a compulsory element to having a diary. It's your diary so YOU choose what to post!
And the other good news..... we are closer to the weekend!

Just wanted to wish you all the best. I don't have any debts at present (other than CC that is cleared at the end of every month), but I applaud you for tackling such a challenge, with determination and humour. Well done fella! :T:T:TWhy pay more than you have to?0
-
Just read this thread, and would like to congratulate you on your positive attitude! Hope you keep going!I Believe in saving money!!!:T

All the positive messages are really appreciated, I'm hoping this thread keeps its upbeat energy for a long while yet. SOA is on hold because the draft one I've done certainly doesn't stack up with the reality of the situation, so either my maths don't add up, or I'm missing the obvious, or Mrs B has got some £800 a month secret direct debit (probably to that sweater-clad fool Johnnie Boden, I tell you, if I ever venture down to Bodenland I'll strike a blow for mankind by razing his flipping factory to the ground).
Evening work plans have been dealt a blow, there is no money in the pot for such stuff at the moment, have been investigating minicabbing but the insurance/licensing/Skoda Octavia costs are too high both monetarily and spiritually for me.
Am really up for the idea of the monthly challenges and tomorrow strikes me as an excellent day to start - where would I find these?2011: 301k in debt and morbidly obese (DFW)

Make sure you've got plenty of pics of you in your current "state" (for want of a better word), my son's fiancee lost about 10 stone over about a couple of years (got the details upstairs) and has made hundreds of pounds selling her story to magazines - might be worth trying once you get down to a good weight to put it from a male perspective.
Have to admit, maybe I should be losing a stone or two myself, and I think this thread should give me a bit of a kick up the rear end!
I admire you for coming on here and starting the process for both your debts and your weight and I wish you the very best of luck. What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0 -
I found your diary via Martins email Mr B
Nice to see lots of familiar faces on here cheering you on.
Have subscribed....not because my debt is similar but actually love your posting style and find your enthusiasm infectious. Might even give me the kick up the bum I need to start tackling things in my own home.I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks
