Mr B you have inspired me to take running up, or fast walking...:)0

SOA is on hold because the draft one I've done certainly doesn't stack up with the reality of the situation, so either my maths don't add up, or I'm missing the obvious, or Mrs B has got some £800 a month secret direct debit
ah ha your a member of the secret direct debit club too...... I thought we were member until I realised that the missing £600 quid was going on food (totally underestimated the small fortune we were shelling out at the supermarket), takaways, bought lunches and that cheeky wee bottle of mid week wine (or 3!)
Spending diary will be the best way to track down that evasive missing dosh Mr B!CC debt Aug 2018 £50.2K

Love the diary Mr B...the tip about using loose change in the self checkout till is the best I've heard in ages, I thoroughly enjoyed throwing armfuls of bronze shrapnel into the chute this morning in S'burys whilst buying my cheapy cream cheese and special offer sausages for my moneysaving picnic lunch...then went off for a train ride (free with RedSpottedHankey voucher code from MSE)...It's becoming strangely addictive is all this thrift !!'Forget injuries, never forget kindnesses' - Confucious0

I too found this thread via Martin's recommendation. I don't read the diaries on here much-normally stick to lurking/posting in the grabbit/comp forums, but I'll definately be subscribing to this one! You've really cheered me up, and have such a great attitude.
When I'm having a bit of a bad day, have time to kill, or want something to do while watching the tv, I find that the comp board is a great place to go. It's by no means a good way to earn extra money, but it really makes your day when you have a win, and it could be a luxury you wouldn't normally be able to afford. I started comping last year after my fiancee died as a way to cheer me up/keep me occupied, and it's been great! In addition to the things in my signature, I've also won an ipad/M&S vouchers & £500 cash.
Maybe it's something you could try as a family-there are loads of competitions for kids to enter too! Although I do realise introducing your family to the MSE forums could blow your cover
Keep going .... I am confident you'll achieve your goals & inspire the rest of us to work that bit harder at ours too!Best 2018 wins: £1500, £500 John Lewis voucherBest 2019 wins: 18 of the latest DVDsBest 2020 wins: £100 cash 2021 wins: 130 books 2021 wins: Jubilee silver necklace 2023: 8xfootball shirts, Spar vouchers, £200 Tesco voucher,0 -

All the positive messages are really appreciated, I'm hoping this thread keeps its upbeat energy for a long while yet. SOA is on hold because the draft one I've done certainly doesn't stack up with the reality of the situation, so either my maths don't add up, or I'm missing the obvious, or Mrs B has got some £800 a month secret direct debit (probably to that sweater-clad fool Johnnie Boden, I tell you, if I ever venture down to Bodenland I'll strike a blow for mankind by razing his flipping factory to the ground).
Evening work plans have been dealt a blow, there is no money in the pot for such stuff at the moment, have been investigating minicabbing but the insurance/licensing/Skoda Octavia costs are too high both monetarily and spiritually for me.
Am really up for the idea of the monthly challenges and tomorrow strikes me as an excellent day to start - where would I find these?
I have a Mr.B who has a similar discrepancy - although it is not a Boden related one:D:rotfl: You have to be a detective in order to find out where it goes...after panicking i found out where it went last month, just have to keep a wary eye open this month.
BobBlackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?
Still lurking around with a hope of some salvation:cool:0 -
