You could try dabbing with kitchen towel, and launder as normal.
If its a delicate fabric, try dabbing with a little eucalyptus oil and then hand wash.0 -
my mum swears by washing up liquid for grease spots. dab a dollop onto the stain, rub well in, leave for a while, overnight maybe, then launder as normal.0

I also use washing up liquid & if the fabric isn't a delicate one I pour some just boiled water over the grease stain first & then add a squirt of Fairy, work it into the stain & leave it for half hour or so before sticking it in the washing machine. The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0 -
As long as the fabric isn't delicate like wool or silk, I soak the item(s) first in hot water with washing soda, as that's great for cutting grease. Afterwards, just wash in the washing machine normally.Debt at highest: £6,290.72 (14.2.1999)

Thanks for your help, I will be trying some of the ideas out!

You old stylers seem to know everything so I have a question how do you get grease stains(fat, butter, cooking oil) off clothes?
I have ruined no end of my favourite clothes & yes I will start wearing an apron when i cook but also little accidents like my daughter grabbed me the other day when i was wearing my new top from Next and she had buttery fingers ! top ruined.
Any help appreciated cos this is one of lifes little mysteries to me.The cleaning and scrubbing will wait till tomorrow, For children grow up, as I've learned to my sorrow.
So quiet down, cobwebs. Dust go to sleep. I'm rocking my baby and babies don't keep.0
