Fed up of Co-op overcharging

Just noticed this thread. Wow, I thought it was just my local one that was doing this but it seems to be nationwide. For me it's mostly the individual price reduced items they do this with, i.e. recently I bought a reduced loaf with the bright orange reduced sticker on the top, not covering the bag's bar code. The man at the checkout clearly saw the reduced sticker but still scanned the bar code on the bag and asked for the (ridiculous) original price. Pffft!
They don't offer a receipt either but I always insist they give me mine whenever I buy anything from there, which isn't very often now. Something very fishy going on with the Co-Op...Dry January: 31/31 days. :T0 -
This thread is fairly old but this happend in my co-ops all of them have overcharged on the reduced stuff normally. I have to get a reciept and then go back in and they never appologise and look at me like i am the one in the wrong. I now try and tally it up before i get to the till so i know to question it if it's higher that i thought.0

This happens at my local co-op all the time. We've decided to take the downgrade challenge thing so are buying sainsburys basics and it is amazing what we save by doing this so no more coop and no more overcharges! -I might just pop by for the 10p reductions on tue and wed night though!0

I brought some Lynx shower gel at half price –circa £ 1.20. At the till it scanned at £2.40.
Me: “That is wrong – it’s half price”
Woman”: “yes that’s half price”
Me: “surely you’re not suggesting that people pay £4.80 for a bottle of Lynx shower gel?”
Woman: “yes”
Interlude whilst the store manager agrees the error, and re-establishes a temporary outbreak of common sense
Me: “that’s what you call a Co-op screw up”
Woman looks like I’ve pi $$ed in her chips.0
