Ok ... I need to get back into doing this.

Small Boy has just sent off his UCAS forms so on the assumption he gets a place in September (or even September 2014) I need to do some serious saving. If he says in Scotland it'll be a bout £10k a year for board, books, travel etc. If he gets an English place then it doubles. So serious uni saving required to get him sorted.

My friend from work (also a contractor) was phoned on Wednesday during our mandatory unpaid Christmas holiday and given a months notice. Panicked call the agency but seems I'm safe at the moment.

Grandad's house appears to have a buyer. Completion hopefully on the 18th Jan but they insisted on another price reduction. Don't have the strength to fight too much so we've accepted. However we can't find some of the paperwork so having to get copy certificates from the Council when the archives reopen in January. £54 for a photocopy :o

Liver function tests have been redone and are still wonky. Spoke to Maggies in Edinburgh during the week and they said to ask GP to organise a scan if this happened. GP was great and called me back at 6:30pm tonight. Letter being sent to oncology on Monday to request liver scan. Chance it's the cancer moving south for the winter, but chance it's not. Going to ignore it meantime because there's sod all I can do to influence the decision.

So next practical step to get Small Boy equipped for the world is cooking lessons. We made fajhitas tonight and we're tackling chicken and choritzo pasta tomorrow. After Christmas we'll meal plan for January and I'll help him learn how to make all his favourites.

All the Christmas wrapping is done and Mr T is visiting with the Christmas repaste about 9pm tomorrow. I've emptied a freezer in readiness and will clean out the fridge in the morning.

Hope everyone else is doing well and looking forward to a month of turkey :rotfl:

Good news on UCAS forms and long may job continue.
    Hope house sale goes through.
Not too keen on potential other news.
So will hope it's a blip.

Well 3 things on today's "Absolutely Must Do" to do list.

    1) Write to the Council asking for Completion Certificate so I can drop if off on Monday at the offices.
    2) Clear and clean out the fridge ready for Tesco Man
    3) Put away Tesco shopping

On the "Must do this Weekend" list

    1) Finish all filing
    2) Write to tenants in arrears
    3) Visit flat of tenant who should be moving out tomorrow to check he's gone (doubt it so much)
    4) Clear out the car (it's really full of junk)
    5) Take empty packing boxes round to Dad's
    6) Make a Christmas cooking list and start prepping things to make Tuesday as easy as possible.

    Beanie

    I've been sneaky...

Bit nervous about going to tenant tomorrow as I think he's moved a rottweiler in with him. This is the end of his 2 months notice so need to check and see if I have to apply to court for eviction. So I texted his ex (who also used to be a tenant) to see if she had a number for him...she does and also said she thinks he's moved house but won't tell her where - but the kids have reported back that daddy's got a new house (and matching girlfriend). She also said he's claiming no benefits and no job so CSA is £5 a fortnight which he doesn't pay.

So I've asked for his date of birth and I'll raise a court action and tell her the address when I find it.

Some people are just so scummy that words fail me...but I've no intention of letting him off with it.

Fridge is shiny and Tesco coming in a couple of hours :j
